zootallures2, your comment is simply tasteless and an insult to all those who died to protect the world from nut cases such as Hitler and Mussolini. This is not to mention the millions of Jews and political prisoners that were killed for sport. At that time Germany deservedly drew the world's wrath. Lest you think terrorism is a joke, remember that folks such as yourself are the first targets in their eyes.

nikosk1, another uninformed Kool Aid drinker I see. The first US President to fly on such an aircraft was a Democrat (Roosevelt), and another Democrat ordered a bigger plan (Truman). Yet another Democrat ordered up the first big jet. That would be Kennedy using a B707 airframe. Last time I checked, unemployment is at an all time low, economy is great, and no terror bombs have gone off in the US. Not bad for a "republican" president. Such single minded thoughts do not serve you well.

Is it me or did anyone else notice that little wobble it did as it taxied down the runway? Also, why are the wings flopping like that? I understand aerodynamics but those wings don't look stable to me.

No thanks. Now you can be crammed into your seat along with 500 other people instead of 230. How about getting serious about building on Amtrak's strengths and developing a nationwide rail system that is as good as it could be.

Great!!! Germany has sent us another friggin Dirigible. Most of these things are full of business travelers; idiots who don't know that there is a faster, cheaper and more fuel efficient form of business travel--Video Conference. Almost all business travelers you see actually spend 90% of there time on thier laptops and blackberrys "connected" to thier clients back home. Why not stay home where you can actually face-toface with the majority of your clients and "connect" to your global clients electronically.

It's an ugly, bloated looking airplane that resembles a pregnant whale! The Boeing 747 is graceful, aesthetically pleasing and will always be the standard to which all other widebody aircraft will be compared. Considering the number of A380 orders cancelled by Federal Express Corporation and others to date, this U.S. tour is clearly a damage control effort by Airbus Industrie.

I hope it's more comfortable than the coach sections of the 747, 777, or MD11.

Actually, it's Jet-A, a kerosene. We'll just do like ALGore, Edwards, et al......build a pollution credit in to the fare.

Since it's called an AirBus, to fit all those extra passengers, do some people have to stand in the aisle, holding on to those overhead straps, like on a bus? :)
