I remember just as Bush started his war I pointed out the no-bid contracts and cozy relationship between Haliburton and Cheney to my wingnut relations - all to no avail.

There was no other company on Earth that could possibly wash soldiers clothes, or serve them meals, or do more technical things like driving trucks, they said. Fearless Leader and his cronies are only looking out for our interests - trust them, my tinybrain conservative relatives said.

Now that they have taken our money and skipped town, they have fallen silent. They're confused.

Dumbasses.

Billions in no-bid contracts. Billions in overcharges. They are running from oversight. They are going where they will never have to show their books. They are going where they will never have to answer for ripping the American people off.

-To do that to the local people who are yet suffering the dictatorial oligarchies blessed by those 'bandits' under the protection of US government.

An attempt to evade litigation ?? --- It's definately a risk for National Security with the access they have to classified materials & operations.

The move by Haliburton to Dubai really shouldn't come as a suprise. The move was more than likely part of the secret energy policy meeting by Cheney in 2000. Our country has given Haliburton billions for services that were never done. I spoke to a co-worker's relative who had just come home after being in Iraq for two years. One of the worst stories he had was that Haliburton was supposed to wash the Soldier's clothes. The clothes had a smell when returned. Come to find out that the clothes were being washed in diesel fuel by some locals Haliburton hired. A few weeks later, none fo their clothes returned. The people laundering them "lost" them to insurgents who could dress like Americans. I'm certain there is a special place in hell for Cheney.

Musty, Furthermore, the Hans Blick statement on BBC tonight is very damaging to both Bush and Blair. This saga is going to run a lot further and you will find that Blicks statement will indeed be the trigger for action. AND by the way I'm not a democrat, my loyaly is to the British National Party.

We finally see what Halliburton is all about, do you suppose they're tied in with "Dubai Ports" who wanted to supervise our ports security? *** Cheney will be getting a vacation place in Dubai! It all makes you sick to your stomach...Halliburton probably moved to Dubai because some investigation is going on for money they bilked us the American public for!! I'm sure they overcharged us by the billions!!

Maybe we need to "freeze" the assets of such companies that choose to avoid american taxes and refuse to repay the very nation that weaned them to maturity.

Amen to that.

Musty, In truth the real reason for the lack of action on impeachment is because of the war in Iraq. Whilst there are grounds it would without doubt be extremely bad for America if it were to be actioned. Politicians of all colours are fully aware of the damage to the nation it would cause. The irony is that the illegal action which merits punishment will be the Bush Family saviour.

I guess our newly elected gang aren't up to snuff. Afterall, some here like to throw out the Impeachment word. Article II, Section 4 of the US Constitution is pretty clear in the "shall be removed" statement. So, why hasn't this been done? Because there has been NO reason the House Judiciary Committee can see for doing so. No scandal. No treason. Halliburton has been examined and re-examined. Groping at straws keeps some people happy.

Welcome to the multi-national corporation. Yahoo, Google, and Micrsosoft sell out the dissidents in China etc, other corporations willingly transfer their jobs to China, Wal-mart is getting cheaper and paying their people less. Maybe it's time we get less naive about corporations, and enforce the law with impartiality, and stop corporate welfare.

We need to change the tax laws so that companies that were established and built by U.S. workers continue to repay the debt they owe our nation. This move will be remembered as the beginning of the massive flight of "American" corporations built in the U.S. flee to tax shelter nations who often themselves were established by american workers and companies in the world ecomony. Suddenly Chavez seems to make more sense. Are americans going to stand by and allow american assets literally be stolen by these unpatriotic men of greed and avarice, while the families of the men who built these companies go without housing, health care, and struggle from month to month just to survive? Maybe we need to "freeze" the assets of such companies that choose to avoid american taxes and refuse to repay the very nation that weaned them to maturity.

I hope the IRS takes a good hard look at all US corporations and their CEOs. The hard working American middle class are tired of paying for the rich and the lazy. Personally, I'm OK with paying for the poor and disabled, just not the lazy losers and filthy rich.

This move is an escape from litigation, at 2300hrs gmt Hans Blick announced on BBC in the UK that the war was and is illegal and that Bush and Blair lied. There never was any WMD's.
If aa 36042 thinks the move has nothing to do with the Bush Family then he is in cuckoo land, I reckon impeachment is around the corner. Lock the B A S T A R D S up, throw away the key and bring the troops home.

There's one good thing about Halliburton moving to Saudi Arabia - they are going to be targetted by every Saudi supported terrorist in existence.

Finally, Halliburton will receive what they deserve.
