Comments on: Halliburton's Dubai Move Sparks Outcry
Members Of Congress Criticize Move As Insult To U.S. Soldiers And Taxpayers
- Congress should nationalize Halliburton and seize control of all their assets.
See how well Halliburton will do without the billions of dollars worth of equipment bought by US taxpayers.
It wouldn't actually be nationalization, it would be more comparable to repossession or reclaiming ownership of property that rightfully belongs to US taxpayers.
Nationalizing oil companies (ExxonMobil) doesn't sound like such a bad idea now that Halliburton is demonstrating how quickly a US based corporation will turn its back on the US.
What is the US going to do when ExxonMobil and the other major US oil companies decide to relocate to Dubai? - Reply to this comment
- I agree with you I8c6. Our nation is in serious trouble. May GOD help us.
And you are right, jOhnwi11iams. The Americans have been played for suckers. - Reply to this comment
- How's that privatization of the military going, **********? OOPS, moved to freaking DUBAI. Hope the American public enjoys funding these guys so they can now sell their services to the HIGHEST BIDDER.

- Multinational corporations continue to erode the United States government. Shrinking, limiting and eliminating our current system is their death wish for greater representation. They weaken the populace's ability to defend their country by dividing them over foolish rhetoric delivered by media prostitutes. Multinationals are interfering with the nations political system pimping politicians through the lobby system and effectively privatizing the government. The hubris of an entitled self-proclaimed righteous elite multinational crime ring will at some point in time take claim on the remaining share holders of what once was the modern western world. The neo-cons speak of a new world order but we have had the new world order. The world is regressing back to the old world order. Serfdom awaits.
It has been apparent to them the Bill of Rights and Constitution are a barrier to their ability to acheive the ruling wealth they've coveted that Sadam possessed. They've wanted these documents off their backs for some time. They don't agree with the forefathers that greater representation of the populace in government is the way it ought to be.
These traitors would readily consider a sheik an ally than a fellow american because it's about wealth and power. We will meet the same fate someday many poor villagers in latin america met at the hands of right wing fascism unless somehow we stop allowing those who live by this perverse ideology to divide us. - Reply to this comment

- Actually,Musty2U, if you would do a little research into the Bay of Pigs Invasion, you might be suprised to learn that it was anti-Castro Cubans trained by the CIA in Florida to overthrow Fidel Castro. The invasion force was getting its A S S kicked on the beach, and requested re-inforcements, which HAD to be authorized by President Kennedy. Kennedy had gotten wind of this surreptitious invasion just prior to it happenning, and was LIVID that it was going ahead, since he had been having private talks w/Cuba at that time. He commented that he would "scatter the CIA to the wind". It was for THIS reason he was ASSASSINATED on 11,november, 1963. Don't take MY word for it... Do your OWN research, as have I.
Bravo bro! If you have to play with a troll like this it's nice to see you do such a wonderful job of shooting him down! Bravo! - Reply to this comment
- Well, with approximately 72 million registered democrats, and 42 million registered as independents in this country, seems like it would be a simple task and a great accomplishment to march on D.C. and run Bush & Cheney out. Who's going to stop 112 million angry American citizens? Nobody. Nada. The sad reality is, nobody will do it. Everybody talks the talk, but nobody wants to walk the walk when the time comes. Petitions aren't going to work. Getting angry and venting on a blog won't accomplish jack. You want to take America back, then show your numbers and move. Other than that...shut-up...sit back...blog your b_itches & gripes, and continue to let companies like Halliburton and people like Bush & Cheney & Cheney will always tell you what to do. Know what? There's somebody waiting right behind them to do the same thing.

- This is an insult to the U.S. soldiers and taxpayers who paid the tab for their no-bid contracts and endured their overcharges for all these years,"
It is more than insulting--these crooks will ultimately escape to a foreign country so that they don't have to have any scruples at all--unless they are stopped cold by legislators with spines.
This vice president is involved in this--as is Bush.

- grazinggoat: Cleaner fuel or a LOT better MPG at 625 MPG I'd buy a Chevy Volt tomorrow if they'd just MAKE it instead of talking about it.

-homespunlady,
thanks for commenting. There are some corrections to what you said. Matter of fact the total milage would be 625 miles done with a full tank of actual gas or with bio-diesel. 625 mpg is way too high to dream of now. Yet it's not bad because the total saving would reach (with certain conditions) some $1300/yr.

A huge effort of research is being put now to produce biofuels from green residues and biomass in general. Great discoveries are done on a daily basis. Only a political will shall bring those research to conclusion with terrific results that may look like fairy tales and dreamy, but watch the technology coming, and giving very home it's energetic independance, all in a safe way. - Reply to this comment
- kstrisha,
Well, the neo-cons envision a country in which there is no social safety net like those that came out of the New Deal and the Great Society. Since they no know they could never do so in America (although they are trying to dismantle as much of those programs as fast as they can before Bush is out of office), they are trying their "experiment" in Iraq. They are robbing our treasury of billions of dollars and contracting out work that could be done by Iraqis. And they have dismantled the "socialistic" elements of Iraqi society that were present before we invaded along the way. It is becoming a miserable failure (not mention recruiting terrorists) right before our very eyes. - Reply to this comment
- Re: Halliburton move to Dubai.
Certainly with this announcement it is now past time to put an end to Halliburton's extraordinary relationship with their no-bid contracts with the US government - they've managed to reap all they can at this point and GOA has found many instances of double-billing and layered intra-company billing as the bills got higher as each subsidiary billed the subsequent related subsidiary a higher amount ...
Halliburton has also been doing business with Iran contrary to US laws by using their Cayman Isl branch.
Our President and Vice-President cannot help but be fully aware of these acts of malfeasance and over-billing as they and their families have long and extraordinary personal and business relationships with Halliburton and their partners and their founders (Neil Mallon Bush is named after one of the founding partners of Halliburton, Neil Mallon).
Haven't we been taken for a ride long enough by now? - Reply to this comment

I don't think that this administration wants us to know that the "government" in Iraq is not here to stay, LOL...
Like the WHOLE WORLD doesn't know it? - Reply to this comment
- I cannot believe they have the nerve to do this now. That Bush and Cheney are not run out of DC on a rail immediately is a mystery to me... How can anyone be so blind as to not see through these two good ole boys?????

- Scott,
I agreed with a poster about the "president" of Iraq getting the same form of punishment as the "former president' of Iraq, and the other posts were removed faster than you could blink...

I know. And I can see it when a poster gets carried away on an insulting tirade which ignores simple rules of respect and civil discourse. But to see a simple expression of opinion disappear, to me, is unwarranted. - Reply to this comment

- That should read as follows:
I know, l8c6. I had a post on the D i c k Cheney blog which has disappeared. I guess asking questions like, "How can they look at themselves in the mirror?" or "How can they sleep at night?" are too much for some righties at CBS to take (And yes, rightie posters, CBS has some conservatives. Quite a few, actually. The notion of a LIBERAL media is an oxymoron.)

And indeed, it is. The media care about profits and ONLY profits. Politics have NOTHING to do with it! At all. - Reply to this comment
- There is some curious censoring taking place in this blog. Not seeing a pattern but various postings...non-offensive have been picked out such as the full Abe Lincoln quote...glad I have part of it but lack the source now that I can't find it in here anymore.
