Brett's a genius, first he caused the blizzard and then he cuts the roof the Metrodome to buy a couple days more recuperation time so he can play tonight.

Maybe President Obama will fly up there and give a rhetorical apology and then offer bailout money to fix it.

So Minnesota "lawmakers [are] pointing to huge state deficits that need to be addressed first" before paying for a new NFL stadium.

Why are they even considering it? The NFL is a private business. Probably every city in the USA has given public money to build private stadiums because the NFL claimed "it will bring jobs." So why don't state legislatures pay for building fast food restaurants? These are jobs, too. Why are professional sports jobs so important that we should have them shoved down our throat? If any Minnesota state legislator votes for it, he/she should be tarred and feathered. All current professional sports facilities which received public money should be forced to repay it, with fans paying higher ticket prices to make up the difference.

The Metrodome roof is 10 acres of Teflon-coated fiberglass that is supported by 20 90-horsepower fans. It weighs roughly 580,000 pounds and has failed three times previously. "

Just imagine the fossil fuels and energy totally WASTED on a farce like this, half a MILLION pounds of fiberglass, twenty 90 horse electric motors grinding away, and this thing like all the other stadiums these sports nuts like to foist off on tax payers to foot the bills for will be demolished and replaced with a "newer" one because the "old" one is "outdated" and "too small"
A stupid frivolous WASTE, down with sports stadiums, get em OUT!

Lord help you! Your comment below regarding Climate change is ignorant. Whatever you say causes climate change CANNOT cause both warming and cooling. It has to be one or the other, that is just basic science. As for the comment regarding sports stadiums wasting fuel that can be said for any major metropolis area.
