Anyone find it hilarious that CNN decided to fact check the SNL skit about Obama, but failed to fact check Rush's supposed comments? Oh and here is the context in which Rush said the "Crips and Bloods" thing. LIMBAUGH: Now, LaDainian Tomlinson to me is the classiest player in the National Football League. He doesn't do a dance, he doesn't spike the ball when he scores. He and Marvin Harrison are the two most classy individuals playing in the National Football League today, in skill positions. They just hand the ball back to the referee. They act like they've been there and done that, like scoring a touchdown is no big deal, they don't taunt, they don?t act like they've been dissed or any of this. Let me tell you, the Chargers would not have lost that game were it not for a bunch of -- I gotta be very careful here. It's not just irresponsible, but there is a cultural problem in the NFL that has resulted in a total lack of class on the part of professional players....There's something culturally wrong here that is leading to all this. It?s gotta be dealt with at the top, because it simply is classless....It's just disappointing, and it's a mystery to me why it's being allowed to continue.

Before proceeding further, note how the conservative complimented LaDanian Tomlinson and Marvin Harrison, two black NFL players. Now if Limbaugh was the racist, bigot, and/or racially-divisive character that he has been painted as, why would be lauding these two athletes?

The host then went to a commercial break, and since he had a very short segment afterwards (likely before the top or the bottom of the hour), he made a quick comment, which included the now-notorious ?Bloods and Crips? phrase:

LIMBAUGH: Look it, let me put it to you this way. The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.

From what you just explained (context)just made his comments even worse. How can you go from NFL players show-boating to "...Look it, let me put it to you this way. The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it...".

Here's my take: In America everyone has a right to own a business in different ways. Limbaugh made money by being a broadcaster which he sells his time slots to advertisers that allows him to be highly paid and stay on air due to his fans. This would have been an excellent opportunity for Limbaugh to become an owner. Here's the problem: At the same time Rush decided to inject politics into his programs over the years by supporting the GOP organizations and the candidates.

The NFL is a image conscious organization which has undergone changes to clean up the acts of players and coaches by instituting rules that range from being fined up to suspension. In order to buy into the NFL, a person have to be approved by the other owners in the league and that's a big hurdle to overcome. It also does not get involve in politics because it becomes a distraction to the game something Limbaugh had trouble doing when he appeared on ESPN.
In the end it was one of the owners and Commissioner who decided to take a stand and not let him in.

absolutely correct. You have comments from Jesse " hymetown" Jackson, and Al " Twana" Sharpton, both individuals with zero credibility. I hope Rush goes after every single lying commentator and is awarded millions for slander.

You don't get sued for slander, for telling the truth.

dear hungry- you really need to control the hate and bigotry you express because this is America where we have freedom in politics. people can have a different view than you about things and that is never a reason to have so much hate for somebody. The media attributed remarks to Rush that it now is apparent he never made. They are going to pay millions for in slander damages for doing it.

Rush made those comments. Deny it all you want, but the facts remain. There are numerous quotes from all over the internet, his constantly playing "Barack the Magic Negro", his agreeing with Glen Beck on Beck's "Obama hates white people comments", etc, etc, etc.

If DOZENS of sources won't convince you, then you're a racist apologist, and nothing is going to change your mind, because you're brainwashed and don't want to hear the truth.

Good luck going through life like that.

by daffy64***your post just goes to show your own racism and bigotry. At first I wasn't going to give your post my time but just keep letting people like Rush feed you with so much hate and bigotry all the while he make money of people like you and could care less about you or this country. Good job daffy64. Rush has every right to own the team but the other parties involved knew that he did it would be more trouble then anyone wants or need. You have every right to be a bigot or racist in your home but when you have to deal with everyday people your racism should not effect for decisions and Rush will let that side of him show every time.

Who-hoo! I am glad Checketts threw Limpbomb out of the runnning. Thank goodness we have people with integrity involved with our sports world. Limpbull is a hate-filled destroyer who pollutes everything in his path.

If a dying tree lost a branch falling on Limbaugh's house damaging it, he would blame liberals and the Democratic party. What a sorry excuse for a human being --- another perfect example of "no matter what, I cannot be held accountable for anything that happens no matter my true level of responsibility."

Yup, as expected, Limbaugh is saying that "If you are a conservative, you are not welcome in the NFL."

This stupid jackass still doesn't get it.

Mr. Limbaugh, you are not wanted as an owner in the NFL NOT because you are a conservative, it is because you are a bigotted, misogynistic pig!

Get it now?

Blaming it on the Democrats, the left, the media, Rush? Man, you and your followers just don't get it. I don't care if it's Limbaugh, Olbermann, Sharpton or anyone who hovers on the fringes, and claims to represent the common good. These cretins are pontificating, pompous blowhards. Nothing more.

Rush, you and your toxic waste don't represent the majority of Americans. You're a hateful, racist, entertainer. Pro sports doesn't need your rabid BS to undermine the enjoyment of the games.

Now, go back to your dank, dirty studio, and stay there.

Rush put himself in the limelight, and whether you agree with him or not he makes his money being divisive. There is a way to be conservative without wailing over the airways that liberals are ignorant nutjobs bent on destroying the USA but that wailing is what he chose to do. I'm sure Rush is whining right now on his show about how he was screwed by the left. But it seems to me that he screwed himself. You can't say that teams look like the crips Vs. bloods and then expect to be welcomed to the NFL with open arms.

In regards to the Rush's comments on "the bloods and crips", what is Rush right about? Please elaborate what Rush meant!! You will quickly realize how foolish and reckless this statement is!!

Funny you should bring up Mercury Morris. For you youngsters, Morris was convicted and spent 3 years in jail for dealing cocaine.

I guess he's found a kindred spirit in old Rush (Oxcycontin) Limbaugh!

Brian1920:

Nah, I'm just saying that things such as they are, the NFL would be better off without convicted drug felons in ownership positions.

To that end, both Morris and Limbaugh would be ineligible.
