For the record, I have no sympathy for Pit Bulls.
Sure, they''ve originally been bread by humans to be viscious fighting dogs, but like an automatic weapon with a faulty trigger that causes the gun to ''go off'' on it''s own, these left-over dogs from Vick''s kennel should not see the light of day anymore. Michael Vick has been participating in dog fighting since he was a young man in the projects in Newport News VA. At first, he was a spectator, and would occasionally have a dog to fight. The rumors followed him to VaTech. Once he was drafted by the Falcons and became a millionaire, he could bankroll his own operation. What an ambition! A couple of the guys charged with him are his "homies", his buds from the projects. This operation has been under investigation since 2002, so they had their proof long before they made their arrest.
I remember him saying he was not guilty; he let some of his family live on his property, but he rarely visited. He also stated he was looking forward to his day in court so he could clear his good name! What a joke!
Mike Vick is nothing but a thug in expensive clothes and I hope he never plays another down of football. I hope he has made good investments with the $50 million he has already been paid because he doesn''t have a degree to fall back on. - Reply to this comment

- It''s amazing that there are still people defending Vick for these acts. It''s a sad commentary when race is brought into the discussion every time a black athelete is arrested for criminal acts. Why can''t it simply be a person made a terrible choice and now must pay. And from comments made by his father, he enjoys this and has been doing it since 02. It''s just that simple. And we wonder why race relations are still screwed up. Quit looking at color, look at the crime.

- I have really met some dumb people in my lifetime, but you take the cake. If anything happened to me or anyone else I knew I would blame the person who committed the crime. Has absolutly nothing to do with a race card if you committ any crime on people, dogs, your momma you deserve to do the crime. - Judging from comments, many of you think Vick is going to jail for killing a couple of dogs. He plea bargained on the Federal charges of conspiracy and interstate commerce by transporting dogs for fighting. He may still face cruelty and abuse charges, among others, by the State. One can only hope...
These dogs don''t just start fighting...they go through weeks and months of training. They are starved, beaten, abused, isolated their entire lives. If they don''t perform (fight) to standard, they are cruelly put to death by hanging, electrocution, drowning, and beating their heads against a wall or the ground. You look into their eyes & wonder what horrors have been done to them, what pain they have felt. This is the person your children admire!!!
Do you believe everyone is against Vick because he is black & has a few bucks? I call $50 million a lot of bucks! That has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Vick was given an opportunity of a lifetime & he chose to indulge his "dark side" by continuing to participate in dog fighting...He has blown his opportunity to play football. In the same way you would not blame your dad if he were forced to do you, and you would instead PLACE ALL BLAME WITH THE INTRUDER, so too BLACKS GET NO BLAME for terrible acts they were FORCED/MADE by the wicked whites to carry out under the enslavement.

- You can''t say nobody was outraged, because you weren''t in every household. I watched about 15 black boys beat 1 white guy all the way around my school when I was young, and you no what I couldn''t help him. I was frozen in my shoes and scared half to death. Don''t you think for one moment their were alot of white people that were frozen when they saw what they saw and knew they couldn''t do anything about for fear they would get the same punishment.
