Makes Deal With Federal Prosecutors; Atlanta QB Loses Another Endorsement Deal
- Hey, we're supportive of anyone reducing the PitBull population. Wish they'd work on Dobies, Rotties, and other overbred unstable breeds that randomly attack and kill infants and the elderly.

- Michael Vick knew exactly what was going on in his house. 66 dogs? Come on people. Dogfighting is illegal and if he is found guilty he should do the time. Hell he could have gone Mexico and fought dogs all day long without a care.
I think many people are having moral conflicts regarding the fact that someone can tape the muzzle of a dog and throw him to the pit so the other dogs will not be injured as the tear the defensless animal to pieces. This is a horrible visual but it is happening somewhere in this country right now.
Morally the man is a disgrace. All of those involved are about the lowest form for someone to call them a human being. I hope he loses all of his endorsments and his contract. Just to be associated with such a brutal sport is no way to represent yourself as a role model or part of any repected institution.
I am very disappointed but somehow I know he will find his way back into the NFL after his prison term.

DISTINCTION WITHOUT A DIFFERENCE is what mostly occurs here, does anyone see it? - Reply to this comment
- Race is not the issue here. I keep seeing comments that have already named Vick as guilty in this situation. Yes, one of the co-defendants plead guilty but this does not further prove Vick's guilt or innocence. The co-defendant was an inhabitant of the house. Vick was not. ANWAYS, let the courts do their job. Stop condemning the man based upon your emotions. Nothing has been proven yet.

- Not looking good for Michael, one of his co defendents pled guilty today.I am white. My great grandfather fought in the Civil War as a Yankee. His brother turned him in to the confederates and he spent a year in Andersonville prison, one of the survivors. My greatgrandfather had his health broken to free slaves in this country. I have always been a champion for civil rights. This is why I do not understand some of the responses supporting Vick. Why is it ok to be accused of torturing another living being if you are black, but not if you are white? Why did the African American community call for the suspension of the Duke players when they stood accused but not convicted? Why did Don Imus lose his job for name calling, not even anything illegal or gruesome like this? Yes, he was on tape. Yes, the dogs were found on Vick's property. You can not have it both ways. Every white cop that is accused of civil rights violations is placed on suspension, rightfully so, until an investigation is complete. This is no different. He is accused of a crime, yes he will get to spend some of his 130 million on his defense. But until then, he should be on suspension (with pay, poor guy). All living things should be afforded decency and respect. Yes, cows are killed every day for food, but they are supposed to be dealt with humanely and quickly, for food. Not tortured for someone's twisted sense of pleasure. And if he is found guilty he should serve his sentence just like anyone else.

- To deranda29,
Your ignorant racist drivel indicates your level of education and mentality.
It's unfortunate that idiots like you and the other geniuses on this forum can't see and/or accept the cruelty of Vick's actions towards dogs.
It's not now or never has been a racial issue. It's the issue of openly flounting laws that prohibited dogfighting and then acting like he's above the law, like the trashy Hollywood movie stars or the other football players who are now serving their NFL imposed punishments.
I did not hear your insipid whining when Pacman Jones got suspended, or that different??
I wish the the bottom of the gene pool would get bleached to rid us of lowlifes like yourself and the others on this board. - Reply to this comment
- What everyone is failing to mention are the thousands of kittens, cats, small dogs and other animals ripped to pieces in the training of these poor fighting dogs!! Personally, I think the only justice would be to have all these despicable human beings involved fight to the death. How about hanging, shooting, electrocuting, drowning, or body slamming those despicable human beings involved??? I cannot believe that a certain segment of society will accept what Vick has done just because they like seeing him run around a field and throw a ball. Five years for all the pain this man is responsible for is a joke!!! What does this say about society?

- We're not talking about slavery. We're talking about Vick & dogfighting.

- Dear deranda29: Maybe you live in an abusive relationship? And you think that what Vick did is OK?..Who mentioned race? I know I didn't. Race has nothing to do with what he did...And his money should go to charity...Your mentality amazes me...

- I am leaving this forum, I have patiently waited for some Intelligent banter but instead I see highly emotional responses, it would be nice to see but the odds are against it.
Good luck and all the best! - Reply to this comment
- Most people here are highly emotional that is why most cannot understand what they are trying to say, Slavery was abolished a long time ago, no one is alive who was a slave, but it has managed to survive past the abolishment, All of us of all Races from our past Ancestry have been slaves at one time or another, from Japan during WWII, China, Jews, American Indians from other Indians and the White man, Africa still today!, and all the way back to caveman days when he would enslave a nearby weaker tribe. If we were all 90 percent smart we would understand that education is the only way to lessen and eventually to rid this type of thinking, but we are not, that is why we have deandra29 respond and think the way she does and its predictable If the DEANDRA%u2019s of life are to have a chance in the future they have to understand, Educate and Evolve into a people that betters themselves. We are all primitive species some more than others and have a long way to go before we call ourselves civilized.
I don%u2019t think anything I say will change the minds of the DEANDRA%u2019s of the world they are a product of their environment it will take generations to change that I am sorry to say! - Reply to this comment
- Punishment....Let the dogs have them. No weapons allowed and no where to run. Let all the dogs that they have trained for fighting plus those that they have scheduled for that special treatment...death. That would be fitting punishment for these vermin. *** fighters should be treated the same. In fact anyone that hurts an animal for sport should be criminalized.

- Not looking good for Vick so far. Companies don't want anything that even smells bad, illegal or controversial. They don't care if you were chilling in Easter Island when it went down.
You're associated with it. Your name is in the news story. That's just the way it is. It's all about the almighty dollar. Companies don't wanna take any chances. Probably don't want PETA et al on their back either. Doesn't look good. Anything involving dogs or cats. Family pets.
No one cares what you do to cows, sheep & pigs. But you stand on the corner downtown & start wailing on a dog with a baseball bat & we'll see how long you last. If the QB in question was white like Roethlisberger, Manning or Brady the same you-know-what would be hitting the fan. People love dogs & don't want to see them hurt or treated cruelly. Stop making everything out to be about race. But if you insist on calling Sharpton & Jesse, go ahead. - Reply to this comment

- Ruby 654,
When has the NAACP shown up or spoke up to protest or object to the injustice of a white person? Hmmmmmm? There may have been a few, surely no more that a few.
And where is Reverends Jackson and Sharpton or Al Roker or Congressmen Harold Ford of Tennessee? Hmmmmmm? Any of them in the forefront for Vick? I haven't heard. They usually make a pretty big splash you know. Maybe the Vick issue is not just right for them. Maybe the Don Imus, Duke University and Rutgers University issues were more in keeping with their choice of media venues...if you catch my drift...wink, wink.
A very famous and revered American uttered the words, "...judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character..."
Who said that Ruby, who, Hmmmmm? Seems like we are learning a whole lot about the content of some folks characters these days, Hmmmmm?
Just an observation, Ruby, just an observation. - Reply to this comment
- okay i think it is ridiculous that we are throwing out the race card on what Vick did. what he did was horrible and cruel. how would you like it if someone made us humans fight like that and then when we didnt we were murdered? people are saying he is rich and black so thats why we make a big deal about what he did. that is wrong just because he is rich and famous is why he will get off so easy or get off period. it makes me sick to think all these celebrities and pro athletes get away with whatever they want to what is the world coming too. he should be in trouble for what he did and im sick of hearing people saying its just because of his race or because he is rich the days of slavery have been over for years can we get over it already?

- cont... Black Law Vs White Law You dont Beleive it THINK.A hockey player for Atlanta drives drunk and kills his teamate. Thats DUI,reckless conduct, and vehicular homicide. You are supposed to go to jail for that Right? No this player returned to his team and played. No protest from M.A.D.D or any other world news correspondants.Hell I bet his hockey card was still in the team set.His jersey was still for sell and he practiced.Vick on the other hand has not been to trial. Nike, Reebok, Donruss and Upper Deck has backed out. Animal activist have thrown Vick to the wolves, and the media has made this a everyday following.Whats the difference?A dogs life is more valuable than a human,Vick is more popular than the hockey player,Vick is black this hockey player is white. A crime is a crime.Me I dont think this is fair.I want all the atheletes coming out to recognize.Stop selling yourselves to these companies.Make your own companies support your hoods.Your people wont turn their back on you. These endorsment groups will,Quick.Ask O.J, Kobe, Tyson, Bonds. Hell I can keep going back to Jackie Robison. If you do you these companies will come to you to buy your stuff. Talk to 50cent.Then you will really have change the game. No Sleep
