Kentucky Derby Winner Euthanized After Months Of Painful Leg Injuries
- I am sorry Barbaro did not recover from his setbacks, I am very happy there are people out there who tried and gave a *** as a famous poet said "the measure of humanity is seen in how that society treats its animals". I admired the forgiving spirit of that animal and the care and
concern by all those who tried to help the horse. - Reply to this comment

- tapperpl,
Right on amigo.Human beings really suck. When one doesn't care about animals.........watch out. My Ex never cared about any dogs I rescued.Unfortunately, I found out after I married her..........another big mistake. - Reply to this comment
- BULLETIN...White House announces that they have fool proof intel that evil doer Iranian terrorists were responsible for the assassination of Barbaro. Cheney has documents from Niger proving that the very same radioactive Plutonium 210 used to kill the ex KGB spy was used on Barbaro. US war planes are attacking Iranian nuclear facilities to prevent further use of WMDs by the Iranians....

- Get a grip tapper this horse had the life. They tried harder than any other horse owners would have. Let's just hope the next generations doen't have this malfunction and need to be put down also. With a sign name like gunnerv1 I'm sure you have millions to count. Please go back to that.

- I cannot believe the insensitive fools on this site. I have more compassion for animals than people, as you could see why by reading some of these comments. You should be euthanized. As far as the war that this idiot President got everyone involved with, well as far as I can see and correct me if I am wrong, but I thought people choose to enlist in the service. Maybe I am wrong, maybe they are forced to join, but I thought they willingly enlist, as firemen choose their jobs and police officers also. There is a risk. I doubt horses choose to race around for HUMANS to make money off of them. My idea is that they should race people, not innocent animals that NO MATTER WHAT the situation is would ALWAYS bring joy to people. But humans? Thats a whole other animal. I disagree with them euthniazing him, thye should have still tried, being he was doing so well not even a month ago, and with these injuries you have setbacks and this is what you have to do. They wouldn't put their kid asleep if there were setbacks, thats for sure. And I ams sick and tired of hearing how thye really were saving him for breeding. If that is the case, these owners are nothing but a joke. And they could care less about him.

- The death of this horse is supposed to mean something to me? Sorry, I joined the Navy at the age of 17 to get away from these STUPID animals. A horse is the only animal on the planet that will and can eat themselves to death (Flounder). Besides kicking, biteing, stomping, rolling, going under low tree branchs, throwing the rider off, did I leave anything out? I HATE HORSES!

- They should have given him the needle before the Preakness I'd be $500 richer. It's only a horse people keep it in percpective. I'm sure they got all the *** they needed before he was put down.

- rjs1955,
You got it amigo.Don't confuse your stupid remarks with the issue. The issue is the horse, not our poor young men and women in that cursed land of Iraq. I think that you should really go back to school, if you ever went to one, and purge your stupid brain........if you have one. - Reply to this comment
- Heyrjs1955,as they used to say, Hay/Hey is for horses arses. Your points and all your stupid discussions are unwanted and not part of this discussion. We are not talking about the Iraqi war which our nitwit president got us into but about a horse.......a noble creature of God. Get your ducks in a row amigo with all due non-respect.
P.S. You should really not use your employers work time, from which you are paid, to be on this comment area. I know who you are. Find yourself a woman.......you really should get laid. It's real nice. - Reply to this comment

I think that you would really make a great glue with all your bull shavings. - Reply to this comment
- ANY seriously injured or debilitated GI from Iraq or Afghanistan who suffers and will continue to suffer deserves more column inches of news and minutes of video coverage than did Barbaro. THAT IS MY POINT.
Barbaro is not a national hero. I need a bucket.... - Reply to this comment
