If we are friends with Iraq, how come we need a walled fortress and 146,000 troops?

''Crocker said the $700 million embassy was testimony to America''s long-term friendship with Iraq, where about 146,000 U.S. troops are deployed.''

???

''The development of this new Iraq is going to be a very long time in the making.''

(He actually came right out and said that?)

''It is from the embassy that you see before you that we will continue the tradition of friendship, cooperation and support. . . .''

Lovely.

How perfectly perverse -- ''a corporate campus surrounded by huge walls of reinforced concrete.''

An ugly, grinning, painted ***, nowhere near the price (in human lives OR dollars) except to Greedy Oily Predators slavering in crude-drunk lust, with millions in public funds burning holes in their $1000 suits.

God Bless America!

This would make an excellent holding and processing facility for Bush regime officials and collaborators, as they await execution for their grave crimes.

Good luck to the people of Iraq, in expelling the murderous occupiers from your country.

Time is on your side.

WOW--at last, the grand opening of BUSH PALACE. Only 700 million to build a memorial to the worst president in American history. Iraq is a good place for it, we don''t want it over here. I hope inside they have giant paintings of all the CEO''s of big oil.

It should go well with our old embassy in Iran. Shut off the money faucet and let the chips fall where they may. We can''t prop up there government forever. Does anyone remember the Shah of Iran? We spend billions of dollars in Iraq without any public debate but try to spend money to save auto jobs and the lid comes off the Country. We are a Country of sheep and deserve this economic meltdown.
