Both Nations Agree On Timetable For U.S. Military Departure, But Deal Still Incomplete
- Last week it was 2010, this week it''s 2011, next week it will be 2015 . . .I''ll believe it when I see it.

- Hmmmmm . . . I wonder how Haliburton''s stock is doing today?
Or Blackwater''s, or Dynacorps, or Lockheed-Martin''s, or KBR''s, or any of the other defense contracting pigs that have been gorging themselves at the public feeding trough for the last 7 or so years?
Oh gee, it''s too bad the party seems to be over for them. But, look on the bright side -- there''s always Afghanistan, and Georgia, too, thanks to Fightin'' Johnny McInsane!
Maybe even Iran, if Diick Cheney gets his way and invades them!
Is this a great country or what? - Reply to this comment
- nextGenMan -- in deference to the veterans of the First Iraq war I believe was a success as it''s goal was to free Kuwait. In fairness I believe the 20th century *** Cheney''s comments were applicable to attempting to continue the that war all the way to Baghdad and forcing a change in the Iraqi government. In that regard this may be one of the few times I may agree that *** Cheney was correct about something and that the First President Bush appears to be wiser than his son and the 21st Century *** Cheney.

We can see how you ARE NOT really worried about terrorists taking your liberty away from you here.
But something you OUGHT to be worried about, is how career U.S.govt officials have penned detailed plans, codes, and laws to do just THAT, that is; take YOUR and every other American''''s liberty AWAY from them!
I kid you NOT!

- There is no "Victory" in Iraq. It was doomed for failure the second we went in. Even Cheney admitted that back in ''93.

- NextGenMan -- Republicans talking about "Victory" in Iraq associated with a Time Line only after the biggest Flip-Flop of the 21st century. AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, only in total defiance of John NcCain''s most valued adviser -- General David Petraeus who says it is to early to use the V word.

- President Bush continuously stated he would look at a timetable and withdrawel when the violence is down... Remember the old "stay the course" line President Bush was accused of? In it he stated we would withdraw when the violence was down and Iraqi troops were trained, this has happened, get it?

Wrong! He never "continously" stated he would look at a timetable and withdraw when violence was down! Any such statement like that would have been made in the recent past. He repeatedly expressed his hatred for a timetable and NO withdrawal! Also, there have been oppurtunities when he could have done the table and withdrawal AND he chose NOT to! But, yes---he often makes an obscure, one time statement like you insinuate in an attempt to appear more reasonable, but he doesn''t mean it and NEVER acts on it! And it doesn''t relieve him of responsibilit, either!
Finally, your histrionic statement is an attempt to relieve him of his irresponsibility, it won''t work with me! GET IT?! Nice try, though. :) - Reply to this comment
- mbcsmith - The Republicans by their own Republican definition are negotiating failure in Iraq, their own DREADED Time Line of Failure. Please explain how the Democrats are responsible for the actions of a Republican President and his appointed Secretary of State?
