- I may not agree with your substitute election process, however, I can agree that the process being started by Bush and Condi once the stupid rhetoric of partisan politics is stripped away could be leading to Iraqi self-sufficiency which may or may not ultimately not be a democracy in the middle east (and why should we care -- Iraq should belong to the Iraqis) however it is an improvement of the existing situation. My Beirut comment was not intended to reflect on the performance of those in the past but to prevent a possible repeat in the future. There exists the possibility to locate quick response teams in safer locations outside of Iraq or considerably distant from cities provided those with the experience and wisdom to know in the military can assure adequate response times when needed. That was my intended point and the reason for the reference.
