10 Troop Deaths Confirmed; Death Tolls For Iraqis Also Keep Falling Amid Security Gains
- armydog, to help you gain perspective, despite the fact that Sadam would not comply with sancctions or refused transparency in regards to WMD and was already known to have committed genocide with WMD maybe Iraq was strategically the best place to actually start the fight. Why do you think America invaded France after the Japanese attacked? It''s because we were fighting an ideology called fascism.

- Minuteman-5 "Virtually destroying the Al Quaeda terrorist network and their Taliban supporters"
The Taliban is still very much alive and making gains again in Afghanistan. Perhaps Mr. Bush should have got business done here instead of "pre-emptive" striking Iraq. - Reply to this comment

We didn''t strike first, THEY DREW FIRST BLOOD, we were not going to sit around, do nothing again and be hit a second time, hence the pre-emptive attack strategy, sorry if you don''t like it, too bad - Reply to this comment
- Preemptive strike is certainly not something this great country has ever done until the misguided delusionsl bush took office. Doing this has made just as bad as the terrorists themselves. don''t you get it. We have always taken the high road and we have always been proud of that fact.

- Just as I thought there is no just cause for us being in Iraq. Do not twist my words or try to insult me, I asked a direct question and all I receive in response is spin, spin, spin. notblue, What did Iraq have to do with 9/11? direct answer is all I want.
My only son is serving his second tour in Iraq right now. I am very proud of my son and I support him and all of his fellow Soldiers. So do not dare to try and accuse me of not supporting our Brave and Honorable Soldiers. - Reply to this comment
- Our biggest concern should be when will this CONGRESS do anything productive. They have taken the month of August off also. If PRO is the opposite of CON then what is the opposite of PROGRESS?

These libs have no clue that there are a number of terrorist organizations around the globe that pose a threat to the USA, as you correctly state, they are not a specific country, but a rogue terrorist group which knows no boundaries or country......9/11 is not the only justification we have to smash any terrorist threat domestically or abroad....when will FullOfKoolaid realize this. - Reply to this comment

It seems you are not an Army dog, because if you were you would know that Iraq didn''t have to do with 9/11, but was a pre-emptive strike on a future threat as part of the global war on terrorism....secondly, Thin Laden is not threatening us, he''s a rotting half-alive corpse in some damp cave.....and did you miss the Afghanistan war, were we avenged the 9/11 losses by virtually destroying the Al Qaeda terrorist network and their Taliban supporters....what do you think we did in Afghanistan ? So, you should be ashamed to call your nickname ArmyDog, more like LiberalPuppy - Reply to this comment

- armydog2, since you are under the misguided impression the enemy is from a specific country please tell us what specific country the enemy represents.

- nokoolaid, for the millionth time the ENEMY DOES NOT REPRESENT A SPECIFIC COUNTRY! They are not from afghanistan either, they represent an ideology, GET IT! People like tyou cling to that nonsense in order to justify your argument WHIS IS WRONG!

- July Sees Lowest U.S. Death Toll In Iraq...
Iraqis also are dying at dramatically lower numbers with the war in its sixth year. July saw the lowest civilian toll since December 2005...

But I thought Obama and the rest of the liberal Dems kept telling us the surge was a failure??? - Reply to this comment
- nokoolaid - so why are we going into Afghanistan with Obama''s proposed surge again? Taliban and Al Queda.

- Not one single American citizen is happy about over 4000 Dead American Soldiers. Not one single American Democrat, Liberal or Republican wants defeat, justify these losses, tell me what Iraq had to do with 9/11? And why haven''t the 3000 souls lost that day been avenged? Why is bin laden still able to threaten us?

- This kind of success is the basis for a gradual withdrawal based on conditions in Iraq.
Some who claimed to want withdrawal are not happy, because they really wanted a US defeat, not withdrawal.
4500 dead Americans gave their lives for the end of dictatorship in Iraq, a new constitution, a parliamentary system and better security in a crucial area (yes, because of its oil supplies on which the whole world depends). The dead and the living US forces who achieved these things deserve praise without cavil.
(BTW, 58,000 dead Americans achieved nothing comparable in Vietnam, just so you know I''m not a proponent of war.)

Please tell me what Iraq had to do with 9/11? I have been asking this question for years and have yet to get an answer? Convince me, Please. - Reply to this comment
- nokoolaid 911 made the war on terrorism not a "war of choice" but a war of neccessity. I love how libs like you know better than our own government and military as to where America should fight this war.

- It''s about time, now that the Iraqis are supposedly handling more and more of the ops. If you stay in your base perimeter you;re a lot less likely to get killed.

- So it seems that not many want to comment on diverting these troops from Iraq to Afghanistan (IRAQ2)?
