I would venture to say that the Iraqi people have more confidence in our military than many Americans do that I have seen posting on here. I seem to remember about a year ago, the Iraqi PM said "the US can leave any time it wants", we are still there, killing and dying for nothing.

Now they say "we have defeated terrorism", and we will probably be there next year also, still killing and dying for nothing.

In short, all the neocon reasons for committing genocide over there are officially no longer valid (not that they ever were actually valid to begin with), but you can bet that there will still be advocates of genocide on these threads, inventing their own reasons why it should continue.
