Another example of evangelical zealotry causing more trouble than they are worth...misguided Marine preaching cross-eyed ''''christian'''' ********* in the middle of Iraq !

How ************* can you get ?

Probably thinks this nonsense will make him go to heaven!

I think their pastors tell them they get 72 12-year-old virgins on a Texas Compound when they martyr themselves by evangelizing while on duty.

This is a HUGELY important national disgrace, scandal, & disruption to u.s. middle east relations.

CBS has effectively "buried" the story on the international page without an appropriate reference on either the headline page or the u.s. domestic page.

More "corporate censorship" of the news, no doubt.

To JWhitman: You are a miserable elitist.

You obviously do not know any American or World History. Recaps:
We are in a battle that has been ongoing for over 500 years, only not taught in our schools, so bent on a "one world" idea, wishfully.
You ignore the fact that true EVIL exists. We are the good guys, They are the bad guys, Just as t he Commies were bad, the Nazi were bad, and now we must face the Islaminc Radicals, a good 20 % of all Muslims in the world, like a huge Chalrie Manson Cult, hoping to change the world to a perverted death camp run by Col. Klink. Get over it. Your world does not exists. America Western Civilization is terrific.
Western Civilization is great !!!
We have the best culture !!!
We have freedom !!!
We allow people to have their own religion !!!
We can talk !!! We can PRAY !!! WE can be safe at night ! sing and rejoice !!!! Protect these rights.

It''s good you have a relationship with j-whitman, maybe you can help him. As for not being hate-filled, please read some past entries he has entered; they certainly qualify. As for the irrational part, I agree. He''s a liberal and as such is suppose to be irrational. I can make allowances for that. As for what the Marine did being illegal, maybe and he may be punished. But maybe we should reserve judgement until the facts are known. Even the UCMJ works on the principle of innocent until proven guilty. And there are always mitigating circumstances. This event was a small symbolic interaction of those who have made a decision. Muslims decide for Islam, this Marine decided for Christ. Had the Iraqi''s thrown the coin back at his face, I doubt he would have used his weapon on him. Had it been the other way around, I''m not so sure. In the end, we all will make that decision to fault either one.

I don''t see the hate. I have read gobs of Whitman''s posts through the years and while I don''t agree with all of them I have yet to read one that was irrational or as hate filled as you seem to believe.

I believe the point j-whitman was trying to make and is really the only relavent point in this farrago of bad judgement....
What that Marine (or those Marines) did was ILLEGAL. It was against military regs and it put him, his unit and his objective in unnecessary danger.

I have no objections to Christian proselytizing and I am willing to believe the kid was trying to do good. But if he was called by God then he should have finished his tour, gotten his discharge, and came back as a civilian and do his missionary work - on his own time and at his own expense. If he felt so strongly about the propriety of what he was doing that he was willing to violate millitary law (not to mention muddy the constitutional provisions of separation of church and state), then he should be willing to accept whatever consequences his actions bring down on him.

It is not only the UN - the International Red Cross is another one taking events, dates, names and the evidence.
