J, you are hanging on that one comment by McCain which is supported by many general officers in Iraq BTW.....

If you watched the debate last night, you will see the Democratic primary is turning to patriotism and character. The modulator and Hillery were tough on Obama and he has pretty much been savaged by the media for his performance. Compared to a General Election, Hillery is a cream puff so he had better get his personal life cleaned up.

J, you are trying to tilt the argument.

I completely understand the NDU. The Naval War College has similar role.

NDU is a learning institution. They do not give their students opinions so much as asking the students to derive opinions based on numerous guest speakers, instructors and reading lists. If you look at the reading lists from each of the service Chiefs you will see the students are supposed to learn.

So, as I said, the opinion may be correct of the student or students who developed the paper but it is not an official "condemnation" of Bush or the administration. That is not the purpose of NDU.

And, yes, I was an Naval Officer (Regular Navy).

Don,,,, The National Defense University educates military & civilian leaders throug teaching, research, and outreach in national security strategy, national military strategy, and national resorice strategy, joint & multinational operations etc.

The Institute for National Stategic Studies provides senior decisoinmakers with timely, objective analysis.

I would say it''s a better source of info than listening to your GOP or McBush

J, as your reference says, it is an "occassional paper"; i.e., an academic paper give a point of view.

Their are other papers at NDU with different conclusions because of the long term strategic importance of the area.

J, BTW, Germany, Britain, France and Italy now all have conservative leaders and parliaments. The tide has shifted in Europe and indicates a major shift of their electorates.

PM Brown, yesterday, said the relations with the US are the best now of many years.

J, that is not a "report". It is an academic paper expressing a point of view.

That point of view may be valid but it is not a condemnation of Bush or the administration.
