Blast Kills 3 Alleged Militants In Basra; Violence Intensifies Ahead Of Gen. Petraeus' Report

For someone who allegedly "knows the truth" about the issue, you sure are ignorant of the facts.
Palestine NEVER existed? Then exactly what was the "British Mandate of Palestine"? That was the treaty that CREATED Palestine and Jordan, after the Ottoman empire was split following WWI.
The British Mandate over Palestine came to an end on 15 May 1948, and that was the start of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War which created Israel.
That is how Israel came into existence - WAR. Israel armed with all of the superior military might of England and America, easily beat the arabs / muslims, many of who were fighting ON HORSEBACK.
Now the question is, what would have happened if America would have helped the Palestinians fight the aggressors, instead of the other way around? Israel wouldn''t exist, but we would be allies with those 22 muslim countries, oil would be cheap, and the mid east would be peaceful - just like it was for over 400 years when the Ottoman empire ruled the region. - Reply to this comment
- liberalbias1,,,, Of course Israel is staying put - Your comment is outragiously stupid.... Although it would be great to relocate it to Texas, they already have a city named Palestine

- I saw this bit on the TV news about how US troops were trying to convinve Iraqi troops to go ahead and deal with the Shiite rebels.
It took some convincing on the part of Americans. It was clear the Iraqi soldiers were not happy about their mission.
I don''t know how the US is ever going to have Iraq ready to take care of its own security if they are going to have to argue every time the Iraqi troops are supposed to do their part.
I truly feel sorry for all the American troops over there waiting and waiting for the Iraqis to grow some balls. - Reply to this comment

- The viewpoints of these radicals terrorist are past the point of being dangerous and now are easily considered desilusional and insane. To call them mad men is justified. to attempt to negotiate with them is beyond naive. It is time to consider a military pre-emptive strike against IRAN''S nuclear facilities....

Whatever. Close your eyes to the obvious - Israel is the invaders, and that''s why they''ve been continuously attacked for 60 years - the Palestinians are trying to drive them out Palestine.
We can expect the same thing in Iraq if we stay there for a long time too.
It''s not cowardice to admit you made a mistake. On the contrary, it''s much more cowardly to realize the mistake and keep putting duct tape, band aids, and silly putty on it and pretending that you''re actively seeking "a peace process". Especially since neither side truly wants peace, as their over aggressive actions indicate. - Reply to this comment
