John McCain did.

He called for an immediate troop withdrawal:

Oct. 14, 1993:

"Mr. President, can anyone seriously argue that another six months of United States forces in harm"s way means the difference between peace and prosperity in Somalia and war and starvation there? Is that very dim prospect worth one more American life? No, it is not... The tragedy in Beirut: 240 young Marines lost their lives, but we got out. Now is the time for us to get out of Somalia, as rapidly, and as promptly, and as safely as possible."

No, we''re not. The oil companies are getting it right now. Iraq only has a few of their oil wells pumping yet. The US oil consultants brought in to get it running are charging a nice hefty price and depleting it. And they''re banking it offshore, and we will never see that money, ever.

"Iraq is dangerous, but so is Detroit" is a very facile and superficial observation.

How much oil do you think we''''re getting out of Iraq?

If we take ANY, we''''re going to be considered as stealing it - invading and then plundering Iraq''''s natural resources if you will.

We aren''''t getting anything out of this disaster!!

hungry,,,,Dont you change my post. The US are paying for every barrel of oil it gets from Iraq. America doesnt need to "steal" any oil cause the entire world wants to sell oil to the US cause everyone knows that nobody pays as much as the US per barrel. In cash.

Not by you, but Bagdadshere does that all the time.

One fool (it may have been him) stated flat out that Bush"s war in Iraq has had the fewest casualties of any military conflict in American history.

That is a blatantly false statement.

Yeah, Chavez knows it, and he knows they''d like to kill him and take his country''s oil revenues.

Besides, Its more important to stabilize Iraq and keep the oil supply to save our economy than spend lots of money to find Osamas skull. Yes, thats what he"s now, just a skull.

Ice, the statistics were NOT used to belittle the loss of brave young Americans in Iraq.

Do not see the worst in everything and make up bogeymen.
