- You know, I''m a soldier''s wife and I will defend him and, all soldiers to the end.

As well you should. But do this first: Find a comment disparaging the soldiers made by someone here and re-post it.
If we are such hateful people, you should EASILY be able to find one of us bashing on the soldiers.
Good luck.
My guess is you won''t find one. You are making the classic mistake of taking criticism of the Bush administration as criticism of your husband and his fellow soldiers. You don''t like the way this makes you feel, so you retreat into the safety of ''defending the troops.'' When in reality the troops aren''t the ones who are being attacked. - Reply to this comment
- You know, I''m a soldier''s wife and I will defend him and, all soldiers to the end. It doesn''t matter how hateful people are, I''ve dealt with worse. It doesn''t matter what your views are, you should remember all soldiers do what they are told. Regardless of if you or even they think it''s right or not. No matter how many times I''m to to put a flag somewhere, it doesn''t matter. I will still fly my flag and show our troops all the respect I can.

- armywife needs a life,
she is a perfect example of mission accomplished
the mission was to fool the American people into
thinking that this war was justified and necessary
both are lies, this war was and is for the war profiteers, and no on else.
she supports bush not the troops - Reply to this comment

- As a republican and a proud military wife I will stay home as my spouse goes on his 4th deployment to support the values the United States was founded on. The surge is working, all you have to do is talk to any dedicated soldier tp find out the truth. My husband and friends put their life on the every day so that our children will celebrate living in this wonderful country called America.
The bottom line is support your government and soldiers. When you spew hateful things about our soldiers and government think of the effect it has on our soldiers who defend your freedom everday, and their families.

Are you speaking of Iraq or Afghanistan ?
If you are talking about Iraq even Petraeus has said it is NOT making the United States safer. And the reason for the "surge" was to allow time for Iraq to come up with a "political" solution for this dimwitted invasion based on fraud and lies... - Reply to this comment
- When I was in the Army in the vietnam era no one cared if you were a dem or a repug, we just knew that it was a stupid war from day one basically to test and sell a bunch hardware for defense contractors who made billions on the war. somewhat the same now with contractors making billions and the oil friends of Bush making trillions.
The Iraq War is devoid of any honor and it''s not the soldiers'' fault-- look how few of them have been given any decorations for combat because Bush didn''t even want to admit there was combat after he declared victory.
The all volunteer Army is a disaster waiting to happen because with it basically being used as a poltical and foreign policy tool there are no checks and balances because Congress doesn''t have the guts to buck it''s poltiical dictators who could care less about the people who elect them.
The Iraq "war" is a disaster for everyone except the profiteers and you can wave your flags all you want to it doesn''t change the fact that we invaded a country that never attacked us. We are the agressors not the defenders of liberty and it''s all to make a bunch of rich people richer. - Reply to this comment

That is where we disagree, and where IMO you are dead wrong. The war in Iraq has NOTHING to do with ''American values.'' Just as torture, disrespect of the Constitution and illegal wiretapping and have nothing to do with them either.
You''re free to think and believe as you wish, of course. But you can D*MN well better believe your bogus propaganda talk about the Iraq war won''t silence me. If you really believed in these ''American values'' you''d respect my right to speak out against the war and the Bush administration.
There''s more to being an American then just bending over for GW Bush. - Reply to this comment
- roger_inkart you are absolutely right you should stand up for what you believe in. You should also be respectful, and it seems people have forgotten that.

With all due respect, I was raised to believe I should think for myself and not simply accept whatever the government says as the truth. I was raised to believe that is how they did things in the former USSR.
If a cause is just, which the Iraq war is not IMO, then yes - all citizens should support the government and the military.
Telling us to shut up and just accept what the Bush administration does with the country is as un-American as you can get. This nation was BORN out of a dissatisfaction and disagreement with the government.
I will speak out as often and as loudly as I see fit, because like you, I see it as my patriotic duty. - Reply to this comment

I agree! From the moment the US ousted Saddam Hussein, it should have been a UN matter!
Actually it should have been left to the UN in the first place. But of course that does not implement of the Neocon plan to incorporate Iraq and steal their resources. - Reply to this comment

- I believe that is what the 2006 election of the Dummycratic Congress was supposed to do - END THIS WAR IN IRAQ - why are we still there? Have they broken their promises? Just another group of snake oil salesmen.

Have you bothered to check the makeup of the Senate and House - and how many does it take to override a veto ?? - Reply to this comment

JERSupporter, I have to believe that you are being intentionally disingenuous here. You must be aware that every bill passed by congress to end or limit the Iraq fiasco has been vetoed by Bush, and backed up by the republican minority, to guarantee his vetoes would stand.
Now, if you want to attack house speaker, Pelosi, for taking impeachment off the table at the start of the 2006 congress, then I will certainly agree with you on that. - Reply to this comment
- Yes it looks as if the terrorist and Democrats will win. America will surrender to Al Qaeda. CBS (Communist Broadcast System) and the Democrats mention the number of DEAD soldiers but left out the part of the AP story that said IRAN supplied the rockets, bombs, trainers and money for this attack and many others that have killed American Soldiers for two years now. Nope, that is not important because it is all George Bush''''''''s fault. The genocidal Terrorists from IRAN and Al Qaeda are good friends of Democrats.

No, not all the presidents fault. You can put a large portion of blame on the idiots in his administration.
Second, Its a well know fact that Iran has been sending weapons to Iraq for a long time. Its been well reported by every major news outlet. The fact is there isnt a whole lot we can do about it. Not a *** thing! Who would we send to stop them? Where are all these troops going to come from to invade Iran? We dont even have enough troops to do what we are doing now.
Its you''re type of thinking that got us in the mess we are in now. Quick to jump right in to another fight with very little thought about what is actually needed to win.
So until we grow a bigger Army or start a draft and as long as we sit in Iraq, Iran is always going to be a big thorn in our side and there isnt much we can do about it. - Reply to this comment
- ["We believe that the only opportunity left for Iraq to be saved from a dark, but not inevitable future, is to engage the international community represented by the United Nations," the letter said. "Such a step will allow the American troops to leave and the occupation to be brought to its end."
The group''s coordinators include Adeeb al-Jadir, Ahmed Al-Haboubi and Nouri Abdel Razak Hussein, politicians overthrown in 1968 when Saddam Hussein''s Baath party came to power and long part of the liberal anti-regime opposition prior to the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.]
These guys, who probably know a little more about Iraq and the Iraqis than our beloved Moron-in-Chief, want the UN in and the US out. Fine - give them their wish. Democrats should ask why is this proposal not being taken seriously. (Since the UN is run by a brighter bunch of people than the US at present I doubt they''ll say yes; but it''s worth a try!!). - Reply to this comment

- The neo con men (aka republican and conservatives)were saying the surge was working, though.
The problem is the same as it was. There was never a plan, never a real motive and never any goals for Iraq. All the GOP wanted was to cause chaos to steal and so they could wage endless war for their owners the oil corporations.
They must think we are awfully stupid and ignorant. They were right about their supporters. - Reply to this comment
