- The majority of Iraqis believe that violence would decrease if U.S. troops left their country. I trust the opinion of the Iraqis. A commanding majority of Iraqis want us out of their country.
Why are we still there? How much longer do we intend to stay in a place we are not welcome? Take a look at all the construction that the U.S. has done (military bases, air bases, gargantuan embassy, etc.) and you''ll realize there were never plans to leave. - Reply to this comment

- How long must we remain in the Middle East? It is time to write our congressman/women and appeal to them to cut off the funding for the war. In 2009, America must bring home all the soldiers. Let Iraq and it''s Arab nations unite to stabilize the country. If we leave, I think the Iraqi and Afghanistan people can make democracy work without us or our money. Our country is slipping into recession with oil@$107. a barrel, food prices are soaring to record highs, manufacturing jobs(primarily auto industry) is struggling to make a profit. Pick a sector from our economy and it is withering on the vine. 45-60 million people are suffering from depression. Let''s join together and pray that God will prosper us in the knowledge and wisdom of Christ.

I am a viet vet and patriotic to my country, but i agree with the statement you just made completely. wE NEED TO STOP TRYING TO BE THE WORLDS POLICE FORCE AND LET COUNTRIES DECIDE WHAT IS THE RIGHT WAY FOR THWEM TO LEAD THEMSELVES, AS LONG AS THEY DO NOT ATTACK US WE SHOULD NOT BOTHER THEM. Too many good soldiers have died needlessly . - Reply to this comment
- I am living in Thailand where the three southern provinces are mostly Muslims. They ar being attacked daily by terrorists. What the terrorists think they are accomplishing by attacking their own people i have no idea. As for the death toll in Iraq, don''t believe it. Our government has lied to us about the actual death toll in every war we have been in. They play with the figures. In Vietnam if a person were killed in an accident, died from disease, snakebite, or was wounded and shipped out of country for treatment and then died they were not counted in the death toll.

- Shortly after 9/11 President Bush made a plea to the American people not to judge Muslims based on what Al Qaeda had done. He also said that Islam was a religion of peace.
What happened to that rhetoric? Taking a page out of Hitler''s book, he realized that it would support his plans and be a means of control if Americans developed a distrust and fear of Islam. - Reply to this comment
- Iraq looks like another Vietnam, lost from the beginning. The French were losing so they surrendered to us, why did we get involved ? At least the Vietnamese people liked us.The Iraqui''s hated us before we invaded and will hate us long after we are gone. Politics is the main reason for all wars.I would like us to try to respect different points of view without trying to invade their countries. The exception to the rule is the Muslim terrorists who are not true Muslims as true Muslims are a peace loving people who do not condone violence. You cannot deal with a terrorist, they believe it is right to kill anyone who doesn''t believe the same as them, including true Muslims.

Our constitution clearly states we will not interfere with the workings of a foreign government, yet we do it daily. We keep starting wars all over the world it is no wonder we have so many people hating America. We should quit trying to tell the rest of the world how to live, take care of our problems at home and try talking instead of starting wars needlessly. If Iraq had wanted Sadaam out of power they should have taken him out. And they are an oil rich country so why are we paying for their war ? - Reply to this comment

- yeah, iran has decided all the sudden because there is an american election to step up the attacks. The 5000 dead so far are an imaginary figure right? they just killed them for fun, like for extra credit. Those of you who think like this are the ones responsible for this situation. Our guys should have stayed in the US instead of invading and creating wars around the world. We would have been better off with small special forces operations in afghanistan than the 100 thousand men invasion of iraq. Bad commander, bad choice of leaders, bad intel, war lost from the beginning.

- The closer the election gets, the more violence there will be in IRAQ. IRAN is sending money, materials and troops to IRAQ for AL Qaeda so that Democrats can unconditionally surrender to the Terrorists....

How can people defending their country from a fascist invasion be terrorists?
Was George Washington a terrorist? According to you, ALL AMERICANS WERE AND ARE TERRORISTS.
The only terrorists are the Israelis and the congress and Bush administration since they were behind 911 and the wars they used 911 to justify.

- Bush is a puppet controlled by Rockafeller. Rockafeller is expanding Israels borders at the expense of this nation and your future.
Quit getting sucked into petty arguments and look at who is behind it all and why. Rockafeller and Israel. - Reply to this comment

You have the wrong website.
They don"t support any causes, good or bad.
They just report on the truth or falseness of various claims.
They would not have been praised at the Wall Street Journal if what you say is true.

- WASHINGTON %u2014 A forthcoming Pentagon study has found no operational link between Saddam Hussein and Usama bin Laden''s Al Qaeda terrorist network.
McClatchy Newspapers reports that the study, expected to be released later this week, is based on an extensive review of more than 600,000 Iraqi documents that were seized after the U.S.-led war in Iraq in 2003.
While there was no link to Al Qaeda, the investigation revealed that Saddam''s regime gave some support to other terror groups in the Middle East, U.S. officials told McClatchy on condition of anonymity. But he targeted those he considered his own enemies, including Shiite Muslims, Kurds, exiles and others, the news service reported.
Sponsored by the Pentagon, the report found no "direct operational link" between Saddam''s government in Iraq and bin Laden''s Al Qaeda terror ring before the U.S. invasion, an official told McClatchy.
The Bush administration put forth the argument that there was a connection between Saddam and bin Laden when it made the case to go to war with Iraq after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States.
The Pentagon study won''t be released before Wednesday

Everyone knows you get a wooddy bashing Bush every waking hour of the day, but you might want to consider some counseling. It''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s well know that Bush is a dipstick, but you have a psychotic obsession with this guy. The impression you leave with your posts is that of someone that sits in dark room all night continuosly switching the light on & off mumbling "Bush......Bush.......Bush"
Bush will be gone in a few months (which is long over due)and you will have to find a new person to obsess over. Please tell us that there is a reasonable person in there somewhere and that you will return to normal when Bush is gone.
