Thats right. IRAN, Al Qaeda and Democrats speak with one voice. After Sen. Harry Reid (d) announced that "The War is Lost", every Democrat alive has been looking for a way for unconditional surrender to the terrorists. Every democrat here is speaking the same "you can''t possibly win" words that Al Qaeda and IRAN have been saying for years. And notice that Democrats say they hate the war but "support the troops". Did you read the support here? It sounds like the Democraps hate the troops as much as any genocidal terrorist. And this is the New Change for America that Saddam Hussein OBAMA, Hitlery and the Democrats have promised us.

How can we praise the military''s progress in Iraq? We obviously don''t control Iraq. When we beat Germany in WW2, Russian was quick to move in and cut the country in half. This happened because we were spread so thin, we couldn''t stop them from doing so. Now we are spread so thin we can''t keep Turkey from cutting a big piece off of Iraq, and we have bases in Turkey. Turkey, people!

The goal in Iraq, some say, was to change the whole region. Replace the word "change" with "scare", and I think you have a more honest description of our motives. The problem is, we don''t scare them. How can you be afraid of someone who blunders so badly and so consistently? We are telling a nation of savage people who have been hardened by decades of Saddam''s rule that we will leave if they cower before us, while at the same time we build bases more numerous and expensive than Saddam''s palace and send money to our enemies all over the region for oil.

This political posturing by the GOP has all to do with the upcoming election this November to help bolster their candidacy, their candidate, and their credibility as a viable party...don''t drink the kool-aid folks!

We currently still have 160,000 soldiers in Iraq! How can the situation in Iraq be any better than it was on the day we went over there?

We already know the outcome, the Republicans will posit from ethnic and religious intolerance, hubris, and misplaced pseudo-patriotism, wishing to stay in Iraq for as long as they can steal the war profits, no matter that it is based on a lie, and while professing to be "behind the troops," they actually don''''t care at all about how many die for George''''s lies, and won''''t even consider the logical expression of support, pull them out, now.

The Democrats will also feign hubris, and also profess concern, but will propose to pull out gradually, so they can get their turn at the corrupt war profits.

But neither side will call for the original liars who started it, Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Powell, Rice, and Feith, to be held personally responsible for their treasons and crimes against humanity.

So in the end, no action, just more lies and BS.

I could not agree more. Both sides are so corrupt and will do or say anything to keep their profits coming into their pockets. I truly believe few if any of these pols truly care about our MIAs, KIAs, WIAs or any soldier or for that matter any of us, only theirselves.

"The cumulative effects of the last six-plus years at war have left our Army out of balance, consumed by the current fight and unable to do the things we know we need to do to properly sustain our all-volunteer force and restore our flexibility for an uncertain future," Casey said.

935 times the Bush Administration LIED to the American People. This is the result of those lies. Now we have a man who wants to take his place trying to make a case to continue this. HOW? Where do we find the Money? Where do we find the Men? We have absolutely ZERO help in Iraq. We have absolutely NO friends left. Where does it come from? How much will you children have to pay so Bush will not have to face the TRUTH? So John McCain will not have to face the TRUTH? IT was a LIE in 2003 and it will be a LIE in 3003, that will NEVER change.

The problem with going against the will of the American People is that every 4 years you MUST face them. YOU MUST explain why you have ignored their wishes. That''s why the Republican''s and McConnell have decided to debate this issue. It''s the ONLY chance they have. The people NOW see they were lied to and they see that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Unlike the last election when they were decieved the people are now looking for answers. It is not likely the Republican''s can provide any answers as to why we were lied too. All they can hope for is to create enough fear to hold on. Sad to see this once great party pulled to this level.

''the Baghdad government has made small steps toward political reconciliation, including plans to hold provincial elections on Oct. 1''

Yeah, very small steps. And we are supposed to keep the peace and wait until after the October 1st election for the Iraqi government to take the steps that matter? This is getting ridiculous.

Far from being a success, the surge has been a FAILURE. Billions of dollars spent since last April and how many lives? What do we have to show for it? How much closer are we to getting out of there? We''re not any closer at all.

''they said the debate would give them an opportunity to praise the U.S. military''s progress in Iraq''

The war is not going to be won militarily, but politically. The government of Iraq has to be able to stand on its own and be able to control its own people and keep the peace. The big problem is, the government is dysfunctional.

It is so strange that the Neocon conservatives keep talking about how we''re going to have to pull up our boot straps, live within our means, take care of our aging and disabled, pay $1,000 a month for an average family''s insurance premiums, keep America''s infrastructure workable, as they reap huge profits out of our $7-$8 salaries, and foreclose on our homes and yet demand half a billion $''s per paycheck period to support the occupation of Iraq.

Isn''t it time to say, sorry, we don''t have it...and bring our troops home?

Now is the time that the Iraqi''s need to stand up, get a grip and grab the freedom we''ve given them with five years of support and 4,000 young lives and make a better place for themselves. Or, they can decide that they want to live under the rules of some mad Islamic extremist cleric and just get on with it!

"Sen. John McCain, the party''s probable presidential nominee, said this week that to win the White House he must convince a war-weary country that U.S. policy in Iraq in succeeding. If he can''t, "then I lose. I lose," he said. He quickly backed off the remark. "

McCain was right the first time and he should know. The GOP Senate/House now realizes that over 60% of the USA wants our guys home. How can they vote for the war and then go back home and tell their electorate that the needs of the Iraq people come first before theirs. If they do, then they will be voted out of office in 11/2008.

From McCain''s website:

"John McCain agrees with retired Army General Jack Keane that there are SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH AMERICAN FORCES IN IRAQ." (emphasis mine)

I''d prefer to see the slacker do-nothing fat-cats up in Washington actually get something done. But since the Repubs are too busy eating with lobbyists standing up, I look forward to hearing them make pleas for more troops in support of their apparent nominee.

PS McCain''s got a plan for creating jobs - too bad you have to be an Iraqi living in Iraq to benefit.

Republidorks are going down!
