But, we are both a bit wrong, you confuse it with Plan B which was approved in 2006 which put it over the counter.
F.D.A. Approves Broader Access to Next-Day Pill
By GARDINER HARRIS
Published: August 25, 2006
WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 %u2014 The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday approved over-the-counter sales of the morning-after contraceptive pill to women 18 and older, resolving one of the most contentious issues in the agency%u2019s 100-year history.
(fda.gov) Nationwide over-the-counter sales of the drug, Plan B, are expected to start by the end of the year. It will be sold in pharmacies and health clinics only, and buyers must show proof of age. Anyone under age 18 will still need a prescription. - skyk, I didn''t agree with what that moron said and neither did McCain. You people like to call all conservatives NAZI''s, it''s flat out wrong and insulting. Every party has a tiny minority of extremists that do not represent the majority but trolls like MC Vet use terms like "boot lickers" Nazi''s etc. with EVERY post he writes!

Did you hear that guy who introduced McCain last night? My friend he was a NAZI... in fact MOST intelligent people that know political science hold that the present day Republican Party IS in fact Fascist. Sorry but that''s just reality. YOU folks have gotten so radical and so hung up on hating anyone who won''t agree with you that most citizens in the world agree. - Reply to this comment
- ianlou, what is the price of freedom and security? Would allowing Iraq to fall to extremists funded by Iran and Al Qead make the world a safer, better place? It seems of the utmost importance to you that America abandon Iraq, please explain to me how saving that money through retreat will make America safer and the middle east more stable. It''''s a good thing we didn''''t put a dollar limit on previous wars or the Amrtican dollar may not be the one used in America at this time in history.

Why would you say Iraq would fall to extremist? Because an Administration and people who haven''t been right about ONE SINGLE thing yet told you so? My friend IF we do NOT go after and bring to justice those who attacked us, extremist in Iraq is the LAST thing we will need to worry about. Take it from an old VET. FDR once said about such things, cut the head off and the body will die. - Reply to this comment
- McVet, the fact that you admit to injury explains alot, obviously there were parts of your brain the shrapnel could not be retrieved from. If you would like I could give you the e-mail address of my brother he is Marine Corp EOD and forced recon. He believes in this mission, it''''s hard to imagine two Marines so different but then again you have proven yourself to be one of a kind assshole.

Well I''m a Marine Combat Vet as well and I agree with Sarge. The Iraq mess is a complete failure and you don''t have to be a general to understand that. When the best you can do after almost 6 years is claim some calm, mostly because ONE side has called a cease fire, you are in serious trouble. It doesn''t matter what political party it is, we are flat out losing this thing and we face an Afganistan without ANY help if we do not turn things around. We went into Iraq as arrogant and as billigerent as it can be done. We thumbed our nose at our friends and allies and WE WERE WRONG. When do we admit it... when do we show th honor to step up and say, WE WERE WRONG. THERE WERE NO WEAPONS... THERE WAS NO CONNECTION. That''s what the UN Resolutions call for. ALL the rest is simply a Coward in Command who doesn''t have the courage to admit he was wrong. - Reply to this comment
- Jwhit, I checked the facts..I was right.. Here is an excerpt that sheds some light. The U.S. Supreme Court in 1992 upheld the FDA ban on RU-486, but
President Bill Clinton lifted the ban upon taking office in January 1993,
and directed the Department of Health and Human Services to investigate
ways to test, license, and manufacture it.
In May 1994 Roussel Ucalf donated its patent on RU-486 to the
nonprofit Population Council. Clinical trials on 2,100 women began in
October 1994 at the University of California-San Francisco.
Private investors formed Danco Laboratories in 1995, specifically
to market RU-486. The FDA conditionally approved RU-486 in September 1996,
but required another three years of research before issuing the recent
notice of final approval.
That puts the Date at 1999. Heres another link as well. www.lifeissues.org/ru486/approval.htm - Reply to this comment
