"This may be a definition of national policy Bush can live with, but can the rest of us?"

Nope, we can''t. We won''t survive the next ten years if it is not changed, and I don''t mean some "gradual trend".

The shrinking circle of Bush defenders ("Stay the course", and "The surge is working!") always gives itself away by analogies to World War 2 and the valiant battle against fascism.

Unfortunately for them, Fascism is defined as "a system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with a belligerent nationalism." (The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language)

This may be a definition of national policy Bush can live with, but can the rest of us?

"Yup. "Friendly fire" sure does not sound very friendly to me." Posted by FeelFree1

Yep, it got me laughing also. Can you imagine the conversation, "sorry for getting in the way of your shotgun pellets, Mr. Cheney, if I promise not to press charges, will you at least let my family live?"

brianbwb,

Re: "VP Cheney is the only person I know of who has recently literally committed an act of "friendly fire", shooting his hunting buddy in the face."

The funniest part of that episode was when Cheney''s "friend" apologized to Cheney for bing shot by him.

Yup. "Friendly fire" sure does not sound very friendly to me.

Let the rebels be captured from their hiding places and brought to justice.

Whose justice, Iraq''s, or yours?...

"Do you think that name-calling is a good substitute for a strong argument?" Posted by FeelFree1

Sure they do, all the war mongers have no valid arguments for a "war" based on lies, as there can be none, so they resort to name calling. You''ve been on these threads long enough, you already know this.

Don''t you just love the phrase "killed by friendly fire"?

We could apply it to a drive by shooting, because the shooters mostly are of the same nationality as the victims.

I can hear it now, "Residents of a South Central LA block were killed by friendly fire last night in a drive by shooting that left 10 people dead..."

VP Cheney is the only person I know of who has recently literally committed an act of "friendly fire", shooting his hunting buddy in the face.

ilikecats1,

Surely, you could supply us with a URL to one of these sites, if you were being truthful about your assertions.

ilikecats1,

Re: "FeelFree1 is still broadcasting false history, slander and spreading disinformation."

If your claims were true, then it should be pretty easy for you to counter the information that I present. And yet, you seem unable to even attempt to do so.

Why is that?

Do you think that name-calling is a good substitute for a strong argument?

telecom_1,

Re: "Iraqi Insurgents blow up shopping centers and mosques filled with civilians,"

You are describing Blackwater.

Re: "..insurgents use car bombs against bystanders and people passing by."

Sounds more like Mossad, Dyncorp, or al-CIA''da. It has all the hallmarks.

There are no "insurgents" in Iraq, because their is no legitimate nor sovereign government there. The armed Iraqi resistance is better described as resistance fighters or freedom fighters.

Re: "They hide behind human shields"

The only group that we know of, FOR SURE, with a chronic policy of hiding behind "human shields", are the Israelis- proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, before their own Supreme Court.

www.adalah.org/newsletter/eng/oct05/1.php

They often attempt to attribute this cowardly practice to their adversaries, as a pathetic excuse to justify their own crimes and atrocities, and always without any substantial support, just as you are attempting to do here.

Re: "...dress in civilian clothes..."

Newsflash- that''s what civilians usually wear.

Iraqi Insurgents blow up shopping centers and mosques filled with civilians, insurgents use car bombs against bystanders and people passing by. They hide behind human shields, dress in civilian clothes and have the morals of a mass murderer. Let the rebels be captured from their hiding places and brought to justice.
