It''s obvious these diplomats have a good reason for not volunteering: They don''t want to die.

I have a feeling that hundreds of State Department employees are revising and dusting off their resumes right now.

A pay cut to work at Wal Mart would be a better choice than to spend one hour in the helll hole called Iraq!

sunsetbillyb,,, You notice no Bush Lover is responding to my last post ??? --- It concerns a major State Dept problem, not to mention the missmanagement over the last 7 years, & corrupt contracting...
... Post a fact & logic & they either Cut & Run or try to divert the issue...... It''s a problem in Congress also.

sunsetbillyb,,

Here''s the White House delima they are still not making progress on.
There is no agreed-upon strategic view of the Iraq problem or the region ... the current Washington decision-making process lacks a linkage to a broader view of the region and how the parts fit together strategically.
This is what needs to be accomplihsed to declare any kind of success in Iraq.....

1... Adopt policies to accept the reality of Iraq%u2019s fragmentation.

2... Implement a phased military redeployment from Iraq in one year.

3... Initiate regional security and diplomatic efforts to contain and resolve Iraq%u2019s conflicts while reshaping the geopolitical balance in the region.

4... Develop a realistic strategy to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict and stabilize the broader Middle East.

How typical is it? Even from their on party, if there is not enough volunteers, force it down their throats. Hitler would have done the same. Kings seem the act in a like manner. They honestly don''t know any better, even in America.
