-OH I see...so all of the troops are doing it only for the money huh? Forget about patriotism and wanting to fight for our countries freedoms. Forget about allegiance to our flag. Forget about the love for our country and the willingness to help the innocent Iraqi people who are being attacked by islamic jihadists every single day.

Forget about all this...

According to you, all of the troops, every single one of them, only re-enlists in a war zone because of the money.

What an insult to our brave men and women in uniform. Wow.

Well, I considered a military career many years ago - it had nothing to do with patriotism - I liked the work - if you want to wrap yourself in a flag and climb up on a pedestal go for it. I am sure Blackwater USA pay scale is more aligned with your abilities and not how tight you can wrap the flag around yourself !

MCVett,

You are not the true, McVet. It takes a loser to add an extra letter on a name and write garbage in the name of another. Loser.

Any time you bring up one of Bill Clinton''s many foibles,
Liberals scream:.."we don''t wan''t to talk about the past"
NOW want to talk about Armenian genocide that occurred OVER 90 years ago.

Hypocrits..

It wasn''t Bush that wanted to pass an Armenian genocide resolution
and pissed off Turkey

Thank you, Nancy Pelosi.

In bombing Semendli the Turks are bombing their own territory. They quite likely don''t even know whether they are bombing Turkish Kurds who escape into Iraq or Kurdish Iraqis who have infiltrated. It may not matter to the Turks, since their aim is to destroy any Kurds who pose a danger to Turkish control. (They would even like to dictate in Mosul where there are some Turkmen, as they did in the days of their empire). However, the rest of the world ought to insist on, not just ask for, Turkish restraint. Eliminating the PKK terrorists is all that the international community should support; nothing more.

Military service is voluntary.

Does that mean they are and have less rights and feelings than the rest of the US population.

Also IOWEIGN, the last time I checked (and anyone who''''s ever served knows this) when you join the military you are doing it by your own free will, you are swearing to obey the orders of your commander in chief, and there''''s no "clause" in your contract stating that you can only be "deployed" for a certain amount of time.

Military service is voluntary.

I think you will find that there is a "rotation schedule" for duty stations. I am a USN veteran and we had sea duty and shore duty. Naturally everyone wanted shore duty and the length of sea duty and shore duty was determined by your rate (job/MOS). I was an electronic tech and back then sea duty was 43 months but you have to be committed to at least 19 months more duty to get shore duty. Voluntary has very little to do with it.

Extended deployments are damaging troop morale !

Posted by IOWEIGN

-Oh yeah, then why do many troops re-enlist by their own choice while in the field in Iraq? This happens all the time over there.

Why is it that many troops want to go back over there and help their comrades?
