Prime Minister Says American Objections Will Not Deter Fight Against Kurdish Rebels
- IOWEIGN - who was the dim light bulb that forced the vote at this particular time ? Of COURSE the President recognizes facts! He was smart enough to NOT want to irritate an ally at this juncture of another political issue, BUT OH - the Democrat in charge of the House of Representatives opens her BIG MOUTH to feel morally clean.
Well congrats Pelosi - you just endangered tens of thousands of Kurds, and effectively stopped any political way of stopping it.
This is what the Democrats do for us! And then they lay the blame at Bush''s feet.
Even the WASHINGTON POST agrees - THE most liberal newspaper in the world.

- Allah means GOD in Arabic. Even if a person was an Arab Christian, they would pray to Allah. That does not make anyone a jihadist. By your own account every muslim would be a jihadist, including kurds!
What was clear is that Iraq was a secular society, similarly to Turkey being a secular society. Women had more freedoms in Iraq before we invaded than most other Middle Eastern countries. Also, the Sunnis were a more liberal sect of muslims. We have turned over the country to the Shias who have a longer history of supporting islamic fundamentalists (i.e., Iran). They are the muslim version of the Christian Conservatives and want to impose religion on the country instead of keeping it secular. - Reply to this comment
- singinrick,
That is simply not true. Most Kurds are muslims, not christians. All you had to do is a simple wiki check before you make postings. If you want to defend yourself, at least use the truth.
Also, you do know that we supported Saddam after the Anfal campaign. So, why are we not condemning ourselves? - Reply to this comment
- The Great Emperor Bush II is upset that the Turks will not listen to him in preventing them from invading northern Iraq (Kurdistan). 5 years ago, everyone listened to the Emperor and jumped to do his will, but today, no one will listen to him and the only ones "jumping" to do his will, are his loyal Fascist Republican congressmen who are stupidly and blindly supporting everything he wants and does!
Apparently, all the deceit and lies originating from the Emperor''s chambers are catching up to him!
Despite that, the Emperor is so upset with Turkey that he hasdecided to punish the Turks and ordered that Thanksgiving dinners throughout the entire USSA and being served to "support the troops" in Iraq and everywhere else, are not to be served with turkeys, but instead to be served with Polish ham!
Of course, the fact that turkey fowl do not come from Turkey is a fact that the Great Emperor failed to grasp, but as everyone knows, the Emperor''s IQ is extremely limited! Besides, its the principle of the thing!

GEORGE W. BUSH RECOGNIZES ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
Republican Candidate Calls on Americans to Remember and Acknowledge "Facts and Lessons" of the "Genocidal Campaign" against the Armenians
Washington, DC -- In a powerfully worded letter to two of his leading Armenian American supporters, Republican presidential hopeful Texas Governor George Bush acknowledged the Armenian Genocide, called on Americans to join with him in remembering the crime committed against the Armenian people, and pledged as President to ensure that the United States properly recognizes this terrible atrocity, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
Governor Bush''s letter, addressed to Michigan community activist Edgar Hagopian and New York businessman Vasken Setrakian, who attended Harvard with the Governor, also called for continued U.S. aid to Armenia, encouraged a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabagh conflict, and praised the "tremendous contribution of the Armenian community to the United States."- Reply to this comment
- Ok Rick, lets talk about more recent history, like the useless armor vests the war profiteers supply to the US, substandard armor that cannot stop a 9mm pistol round in an area where they are using AK47s. The contract was awarded to a Bush $25,000 contributor the founder and CEO of DHB, makers of the infamous Interceptor armor vest, even though a competing vest, called Dragon Skin is the choice of law enforcement and private security for its proven superior quality.
The lives of the soldiers doesn''t matter to DHB, or the people who approved the contract, it was all about money. Now that the truth is out, the SEC wants to charge them with fraud, but no one cares about the body bags coming back with bullet and shrapnel riddled vests.
You want to talk troop morale? How about the fact that even if the soldiers buy the better armor with their own money, they are forbidden to wear it, hows that for a morale boost?
Your frequent posts show you also don''t care about the lives of the soldiers, you only use these posts to demonstrate your hypocrisy, justifying innocent death and destruction based on your own version of superstition. There are also Muslim Americans serving, how do you think your religious intolerance boosts their morale, eh? - Reply to this comment
- singinrick,
There were no islamic jihadists in Iraq before we invaded. Saddam was killing them. If you cared so much about the innocent Iraqis, you would never have supported the invasion. All the Christians in Iraq have left. They were a protected group before we invaded. So much for your love of Christians. - Reply to this comment

-OH I see...so all of the troops are doing it only for the money huh? Forget about patriotism and wanting to fight for our countries freedoms. Forget about allegiance to our flag. Forget about the love for our country and the willingness to help the innocent Iraqi people who are being attacked by islamic jihadists every single day.
Forget about all this...
According to you, all of the troops, every single one of them, only re-enlists in a war zone because of the money.
What an insult to our brave men and women in uniform. Wow.

Well, I considered a military career many years ago - it had nothing to do with patriotism - I liked the work - if you want to wrap yourself in a flag and climb up on a pedestal go for it. I am sure Blackwater USA pay scale is more aligned with your abilities and not how tight you can wrap the flag around yourself ! - Reply to this comment

You are not the true, McVet. It takes a loser to add an extra letter on a name and write garbage in the name of another. Loser. - Reply to this comment

- In bombing Semendli the Turks are bombing their own territory. They quite likely don''t even know whether they are bombing Turkish Kurds who escape into Iraq or Kurdish Iraqis who have infiltrated. It may not matter to the Turks, since their aim is to destroy any Kurds who pose a danger to Turkish control. (They would even like to dictate in Mosul where there are some Turkmen, as they did in the days of their empire). However, the rest of the world ought to insist on, not just ask for, Turkish restraint. Eliminating the PKK terrorists is all that the international community should support; nothing more.

Does that mean they are and have less rights and feelings than the rest of the US population. - Reply to this comment
- Also IOWEIGN, the last time I checked (and anyone who''''s ever served knows this) when you join the military you are doing it by your own free will, you are swearing to obey the orders of your commander in chief, and there''''s no "clause" in your contract stating that you can only be "deployed" for a certain amount of time.
Military service is voluntary.

I think you will find that there is a "rotation schedule" for duty stations. I am a USN veteran and we had sea duty and shore duty. Naturally everyone wanted shore duty and the length of sea duty and shore duty was determined by your rate (job/MOS). I was an electronic tech and back then sea duty was 43 months but you have to be committed to at least 19 months more duty to get shore duty. Voluntary has very little to do with it. - Reply to this comment
- Extended deployments are damaging troop morale !
Posted by IOWEIGN
-Oh yeah, then why do many troops re-enlist by their own choice while in the field in Iraq? This happens all the time over there.
Why is it that many troops want to go back over there and help their comrades?
