Thanks to speaker Nancy and that gang of cut and run Demoncrats in congress, along with CBS, the Turks are just the first of a list of nations that will try and take advantage of us in Iraq. Bush has nothing to lose and everything to gain by standing up for the Kurds and Iraq.

U.S. soldiers who guarded the lockup that housed Saddam Hussein in his last months testified Wednesday their camp commander let former regime inmates - including those on death row - use his cell phone for unmonitored calls. The testimony, on the third day of the court-martial of 52-year-old Lt. Col. William H. Steele, an Army reservist from Prince George, Virginia, faces a life sentence if convicted on the charge of aiding the enemy by allowing the prisoners use his phone.

Well... if we can go half way around the world to invade Iraq and cause the death of hundreds of thousands based on lies--then surely if their neighbor wants to get in on the fun--we interlopers from another land should certainly have very little to say, right? I mean--if it is okay for us to do--then surely it is okay for Turkey...besides--we''d finally be getting a country to really be in the war with us instead of being a front and cheerleaders for our war. The US and Turkey--just in time for Thanksgiving.

Dear Turkey:

Nuke the PKK back to the stone ages. Then they, and no one else, will cross your borders.

Don''t bother responding with the feeble-minded argument that someone will start world war over Turkey defending it''s borders.

If we already had an active diplomatic offensive the Turks and Kurds would be engaged at the conference table and not on the battlefield.

Some people never learn.

There are Kurds and PPK Kurds, you are the one who doesn''t understand. There are Muslims and Islamists, there Democrats and Progressive Democrats, does that make it clearer. The PPK Kurds are nuts, the Islamists are nuts and the Progressive Democrats are nuts

All the more reason we have to stay in Iraq. Bordering nations see a plum for the picking. I have been warning of this all along. President Bush should station some air force fighters up north and tell the Turks to lay the he*ll off or risk getting their assses handed to them. We wouldn''t stand for Iran doing this.

Outofitall,

The difficult part is getting some people to admit that it''s broken(the surge is working crowd).

It does no good to bemoan what should''ve happened in 2003 but you can see on this blog how many are still committed to defending the status quo in Iraq against all common sense.

The first lesson of war fighting is to recognise when a course correction is required. These folks think they have it now with the "new" surge strategy, but that strategy is based upon the assumption that things will remain static in the Kurdish & Shiite provinces and this shows how foolish that is.

The real answer was presented to the President last November by the Iraq Study group. They didn''t tell him
what he wanted to hear so they were dismissed like the French & Germans before them.

If we already had an active diplomatic offensive the Turks and Kurds would be engaged at the conference table and not on the battlefield.

Some people never learn.

I don''t think anyone knows what to do right now. If someone says that they do, they are probably lying.

Of course, Bush and friends are recognizing Turkey''s demands. If Turkey invades northern Iraq, all hell is going to break loose. The Kurds may simply break off and form a new state. I think that''s what they''ve been planning the whole time any way.

If I had that answer, I would probably be either a politician or dead... I really don''t know if we can fix it until we all recognize that it''s broken without taking sides or reacting on emotion....
