FTA. Wow! I completely forgot about that one. I remember the ritual was to yell "SHORT" (when you were) and FTA out the barracks window. Thanks for the memry.

I don''''t recall too many people other than drunken GI''''s calling me anything related to my service.

We had some trouble with "Squids" and our own "Recon,"
they think they are the real hot shots of the Marines; they just might be, their training is pretty tough.

"So, I was just venting my frustration and I know jarheads can handle it. They''re used to being abused. They love it, that''s why they''re so few, the proud and abused. Full Metal Jacket always makes me smile when I watch it."

The Abraham Lincoln Brigade "is sometimes thought to be the first American military unit to be commanded by a black officer, Oliver Law."

During the Spanish Civil War, a lot of American Leftists actually put their bodies where their mouths were, by forming the "Abraham Lincoln Brigade" and going over there and fighting on the anti-Franco side.

Now there''s an idea. I don''t know that the American Right has ever done anything like that (maybe they have) but if they did it now, it might rescue support for this war among the American people.

They could form their own "Abraham Lincoln Brigade" and go over there and fight al Qaeda.

Not like contractors. I mean volunteers in a fighting brigade. They''d be under Maliki''s command.

That would be so much more effective than all of those terrorislam1 posts that only he reads.

Just a thought.

Ya, we say that USMC stands for: "Uncle Sam''s Misguided Children." I''ve been called everything from a baby killer to a sea going bellhop; it all comes with the territory.

I think the marines are right in wanting to leave Iraq and going to Afghanistan to help over there.
We should have sent all of our forces there and not to Iraq in the first place.
Let the marines lead the way and do things the RIGHT way so we can get OUT of Iraq and out of that war.

I love the way Bush and Limbaugh''s followers have to interpret everything they say to make it make sense. My dog says "woof, woof", but he means take away Rush''s microphone and impeach Bush.

Why anyone would stick up for Rush at this point boggles me

Why wouldn''t anyone stick up for Rush? How people can interpret the ''phony soldiers'' as it has been portrayed boggles me.

I had a kinda goofy C.O. when I was in Germany. Not the biggest apple on the tree. He liked to be involved with the troops. (no not that way, you dope) Work-wise. We sorta kept him outta trouble. We were truckers and he couldn''t drive the 5 and 10 ton trac/trailrs. Nice enough guy for a captain. Made major just before I left. Think the louie in "Heartbreak Ridge".

"I had heard they were beginning to think about that, and that''s all that I''ve heard." Robert Gates. Um, Bob, we need to talk. Take out a business card. See where it says "Secretary of Defense"? That is you. But you "heard" the marines want to make a move? Since when does a branch of the service tell the suits what they are or want to do? Unless they are maybe planning a move that you REALLY won''t like. Shudder.

Look out Marines. OxyContin Rush - the drugged-up, boil-on-butt deferment, mouth of the right wing - will now be labeling you "phony soldiers", too. (Of course, everybody else knows better.)

Great, someone else without a brain that thinks Rush said something he didn''t.

Draftreid points out that "cowards and traitors never enlist." Has he forgotten Cheney (he had "other priorities" at the time) & Bush (cushy national guard job to avoid Vietnam) and ALL of the NeoCons who did not enlist?

Draftreid, are you completely and irrevocably re-tarded? There are NO BIGGER COWARDS ANYWHERE than the NeoCons who rule the GOP and who control your every thought.

s1ckd09,,,,, Are you trying to say the Commandant of the Marine Corps is a Coward ????? Maybe you should start supporting the troops & pay attention instead of calling them names --

Posted by j-whitman at 01:55 PM : Oct 11, 2007

I still can''t figure out why you thought I was calling the Commandant of the Marine Corp a "coward" which I did not do in any way, shape, or form. I explicitly said you WON''T find cowards in the Marines. How can you take that out of context?
And you never backed up your claim of "Bush classifying bad news coming out of Iraq."

Ron Paul gets more support from the military than any other republican candidate.

The military know what''s going on over there and want out!

Has anybody read the declaration of war against the us from OBL?
http://www.meij.or.jp/new/Osama%20bin%20Laden/jihad1.htm

Or the 9/11 commission report on blowback...Or that 95% of suicide bombing is from occupation - not fundamentalism?

http://www.amconmag.com/2005_07_18/article.html

Are any of us smarter than a 5th grader?

Ron Paul for President!

That''''''''s interesting considering the ratio of Republicans to Democrats in the Armed Services.

Posted by s1ckd09 at 02:56 PM : Oct 11, 2007

Got some more lies all lined up to tell, have you? We do know you are liar by your own admission. And, you intentionally post lies and misleading comments.

Based on my experience in the service, military people are little different than the general population. They are apolitical and really do not support either party.

But, given the fact you are a liar who uses phony quotes, I''''m sure you have some lie you can tell trying to prove whatever it is you are trying to prove.

The only thing you''''ve proven so far is you are a liar who hates Democrats.

In other words, a typical Bush supporter.

Posted by tuckerndfw at 03:16 PM : Oct 11, 2007

HAHA!!! nice try... I used a phony quote with the sole purpose of revealing that it was phony, and that was whole idea. If you want to call that being proven a "liar" than go ahead. I suppose the fact that I don''t hate Democrats proves you to be a liar also. So now what?
