I would say that you have summed up the issue rather completely.
Yes, Bush lied like hell to delude the American people into supporting the invasion of Iraq. I knew he was lying...you could hear it in his voice and see it in his face. A skeptical, yet spineless and self-serving Congress then voted to authorize the invasion because they were worried that Bush would come out a winner and they would be labeled as those who opposed this action. - Reply to this comment

- The Washington Regime''s war on behalf of Oil and Israel is an abomination. It is year''s past time that this be admitted and the perpetrators be made to pay the price for their perfidy. Bush said that regardless of whether Saddam was still in power, the US would be in Baghdad by March before he launched his war--the war was not to remove Saddam. Bush asked his national security team to ''find him a reason to invade Iraq'' less than two weeks after he took office. His entire Neo-scum-Trotskyite-Communist team was made up of ideologues who supported war against Iraq--and Powell, who was part willing accomplice and part rationalizing dupe, who had his limits when it came to swallowing the egregious nonsense that was the Neo-Scum ''case'' for war.
And what is the war goal?--The privatization of Iraq''s oil reserves so that the Anglo-American oil interests--and the vile French poodle-dog, Total, who has been promised a flavor-snack for getting the dirt bag Sarkozy into office.
