"There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution."
Aldous Huxley

"If these deluded souls had not bothered themselves with religion, they would NOT have been in the state of mind to being led into committing atrocities on other humans all for some faceless "God""

I just listed a good chunk of the major wars in human history... which were based on the simple desire to acquire wealth - at best, it was a Nationalistic thing. Are you suggesting humans should not form groups, alliances, cultures of any kind? Well, that might work... but good luck on undoing a few million years of evolution. If these... as you call them ''deluded souls'' had not bothered with religion, I can assure you their secular passions would act without restraint in a most gruesome fashion...

Don''t you worry your pretty little head though cupcake - keep it up & you''ll find out first hand one day what it means to exist beyond the grace of God...

People who believe in a God, called by any name, have never grown up and learned to take repsonsibility for themselves.

Think about it. What is the safest you have ever been? What did you long for as a child. The safety of your father. He would protect you, shield you, hold you, comfort you.

When a person grows into adulthood they long for the same feelings, but being adults they can''t run back to Dad.

So, they create this mythical God, who has all the same characteristics as your own father, makes you feel like you did as a child and now you have the comfort of having your "father" back. This father does all that AND forgives you for your sins, just like your biological dad.

Then your father didn''t teach you well, or you are rebelling from the Truth.

By the way, the highly secular (and socialistic) Scandinavian countries are the most generous in assisting the poor nations of the world.

I called Agincourt, Waterloo and the Somme, "Christian-on-Christian scuffles."

And so they were.

If Christianity, the Christianity of both sides, didn''t prevent all that bloodshed, then why didn''t it ?
