Agreed again j-whitman. The GOP and shrub hijacked our government and turned our country into one of the most hated places on the planet. You can almost hear Tom, George, Ben and others crying.

j-whitman,
You took all of 8 minutes to read my last comment/response, type your own response, and post it.

Perhaps, if you took more time and really tried to comprehend what I said, you would not need to respond emotionally.

As far as you know you are talking to a fellow veteran. The same people you have so much respect for, and at the same time, seem to think I do not.

Respect is never owed to anyone it must always be earned.
You are free to think of me what you will as will other readers of these comments..

As I said earlier my respect for you is based on your comments not just a few chosen comments, but all comments, past present and future.

Have a good day.

jn122736,,, So, you thind you know the problems better than our military members, what thier families face & refusing to serve is a standard of patriotism or honor to country ???? --
-- Just why do you think Iraq has been such a problem ???? -
-- Don''t you think our concept of foreign policies of creating regeimes, nation building, selecting thier leaders then disposing of them for decades could be a major source ???

j-whitman, you are one of several posters here that I have a lot of respect for, not simply because of your military service but based on many of your past comments.

I disagree that being in service gives the average soldier better insight into what is happening, especially why we are in combat.

In my OPINION soldiers on the ground are more uninformed, as to cause and effect, than citizens fighting or supporting the action on the home front.

Members of the military are no better or more deserving of respect than other citizens who spend their lives serving their fellow Americans/country.

However, stating that we served/are serving in the military is NOT bragging it is a statement of well-deserved pride, just as it is worthy of pride to serve in other capacities.
We all are, or should be, Americans first.
Otherwise, we have little to fight for.

As for Iraq; it, like many countries, has been a problem for a long time.

IMO, Iraq became our own, almost exclusive, problem in 2003 (remember Powel%u2019s warning, %u201Cif you break it you own it?)

You could very well be right nancy_naive. If this is the case, that person has to live with his/her self. In these trying times, I don''t think I would want that on my conscience.

The GOP must move past there political denial, these soldier lives are not worth a chance at delusional legacy of plausible deniability tabloid history will not change this massive blunder or wash away the stain of blood. Call your Senators demand, demand they stop the slaughter of our Soldiers.

jn122736,,, Serving in the military gives you a much better concept of the problems they face even in peace time..... Certian statements by your own make it obvious who hasn''t served, or you ignored what was learned, for it for party or religious loyalties

Speaking of "jumping to conclusions based on emotion or lack of info" ---- Iraq never was a problem was it ???
