Can any of the "surge is working" adherents please point out to us the significant political progress made in Baghdad by the Maliki government in the past 6 months that gets our troops closer to coming home to be with their families? I see a lot of smoke by the Bushies, but I don''t see them pointing out the success of the political achievements made possible by the surge. And, everyone knows that this was the goal of the surge. So Bushies, please don''t change the subject, please don''t mention Clinton, please tell us about all the political progress in Iraq since January.

Here''s what Bush said yesterday in Australia:

"We''re facing a new kind of war. It''s a war in which extremists use the murder of the innocent to spread their ideology of hatred and repression."

That''s not a new kind of war. It''s as old as war itself.

Bush''s handlers want to "con" people into thinking this Iraq quagmire is like nothing before in history. That way people will be more likely to support it.

Bush is a profoundly ignorant drunk. He apparently isn''t even aware of what happened at Pearl Harbor. His handlers didn''t tell him:

"For a century and a half now, America and Japan have formed one of the great and enduring alliances of modern times. From that alliance has come an era of peace in the Pacific."
- George W. Bush, February 18, 2002

Seven more soldiers dead today. Family, children, life, not an option for these men. All because some greedy bas-tards in D.C. used them to cash in on war profiting. The Bush Admin. continue to lie to America, manipulating and omitting what ever information they can get away with so to keep the cash rolling into the war profiteering industries banks. These Americans lives are just a part of the business for these people. Southern hoodwinked communities and propagandists take advantage of these people pulling PR stunts and telling them cards and support from the community should be heart wrenching, and touching enough for them to agree that this war was worth their son never experiencing a family, their childrens future, or any other of the many happy and sad times life offers. They use lines like, "If you don''''t support the war than your saying your child died for nothing." Well, the truth is they didn''''''''t die for nothing they died for the greed of corporation elite, who invaded a country purely for profit and power in an area of the world rich in poorly defended resources. Those people continue to show their greed as they push for more money, more war, and consequently more death.

In the first place stupid, I stand corrected. The oath was amended.

In the second place, go fvck yourself, you know nothing of my past or if I served. All we have got from you is a lot of cheap talk. Why don''t you take your sorry azz and drive your Huuummmmvvveee around mama''s basement for awhile.

If your moronic *** is intelligent enough to read...pay particular attention to line 3...

"I DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR (OR AFFIRM) THAT I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC; THAT I WILL BEAR TRUE FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE TO THE SAME; AND THAT I WILL OBEY THE ORDERS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE ORDERS OF THE OFFICERS APPOINTED OVER ME, ACCORDING TO REGULATIONS AND THE UNIFORM CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE. SO HELP ME GOD."

And I am proud to have served 7 years of active duty...2 and half in combat...to defend your liberal mouth saying that I have never served in the military. I am proud to continue serving bleed heart liberals who only slam us servicemen and women for doing the brave job that we do. Keep it up bozo....you are only making yourself look stupid saying BS like that.

Ok idiot, where does it say the president in the oath.

"I, {insert name here}, do solemnly swear, (or affirm), that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God." (Note that the last sentence is not required to be said if the speaker has a personal or moral objection)

I have my doubts about "tankersmash" being in the military too. He hasn''''t figured out that "liberals" are covering his back a lot more than conservatives.

If he was indeed an officer he should have known that the United States Military Oath of Allegiance does not pledge allegiance to the president but to the constitution.

Perhaps, someday, we can show our love for this country just like our friends in the GOP. Ignore the constitution, run up trillions in debt, undermine the regulatory bodies by appointing lobbyists and cronies to oversee them, start a war on cherry picked intelligence. Ah yes, someday perhaps, but for now that "love" must be spread entirely by the GOP.

You are so right.

To have a problem sleeping because of these soldiers dying in Iraq requires one to actually have a conscience.

IMO, the Iraq invasion was NOT simply a mistake. It was a deliberate, pre 911, planned action for reasons unrelated to any war on terrorism.

Mistake or not, it can only be corrected when recognized as such and admitted to.

This administration will never admit to the invasion being wrong even though the whole world knows it was (and still is).

The only problem Iraq was to the US was to the US Energy companies - they/we needed a more US-friendly leader than Saddam. Let''s not try and make believe that Cheney and Bush gave a ***** about the plight of the poor iraqis -- they can barely find sympathy for Americans nevermind Iraqis. Saddam sealed his fate in Nov 2001 when he said he would no longer accept US Dollar in payment for oil - US dollar long being the only currency accepted by OPEC.

As to the soldiers - well - for most part their knowledge relates only to their very immediate circumstances and area of service- but many are seeing that they don''t have what they need to fight, that contractors have newer better armoured vehicles, taht they are having to find parts where and how they can to maintain and repair their vehicles and planes, that as they go out on duty they''ve no idea minute to minute who their enemy or friends are - that they can''t even trust too many of the iraqi forces. This much they know - they may not see the larger picture - but they do know what they''re experiencing daily - just like the guy who''s in a ''friendly zone'' trying to put hospitals and schools back together - he sees that he''s accomplishing something good but doesn''t experience what it''s like to go out to Fallujah 2/3 times to fight never-ending insurgencies.

Twitchin'' over the website? Sorry Charlie!
Here''s an idea....don''t pick a Marine or soldier from the website. THEY are the ones asking for support. Buy a good, used copy of Hodges Harbrace College Handbook instead for your desk.

dnc are like john adams and want to give the jihadist their lunch money hoping they will leave us alone....

gop are like thomas jefferson and want to spend their lunch money on weapons and go kick the jihadists in their arses.....

What Thomas Jefferson learned from the Muslim book of jihad

Thomas Jefferson knew about fascist nazi islam..... he killed plenty of them....

In 1786 Jefferson and John Adams went to negotiate with Tripoli''s envoy to London, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman or (Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja). They asked him by what right he extorted money and took slaves. Jefferson reported to Secretary of State John Jay, and to the Congress:

The ambassador answered us that [the right] was founded on the Laws of the Prophet (Mohammed), that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have answered their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to heaven.[1]
