Switching Sides: Inside The Enemy Camp

But then in 2000, well before his arrest, something happened which would make Abas question everything he believed in: a fatwa, a religious edict, was issued by Osama bin Laden.

"It should be understood that killing Americans and Jews anywhere found are the highest act of worship and the highest form of good deeds in the eyes of Allah," Simon quotes bin Laden.

Abas and his fellow commanders were ordered to read the fatwa to their men and make sure they carried it out. The others obeyed, but Abas refused. It was his moment of truth. He firmly believed that jihad was to be fought only on the battlefield in defense of Islam; he had always been taught that the killing of civilians had nothing to do with holy war and that it was forbidden.

The fatwa justified killing non-Muslim civilians everywhere.

Neville Chamberlain has been history''s laughing stock for a half-century.

He has finally been replaced by an even bigger laughing stock - G.W. Bush.

As evidenced by his appointments of Mike Brown, Donald Rumsfeld, and Alberto Gonzales.......

Bush: "And we''re going to win and we''re going to succeed."

Translation:

Bush: "I''m going to be vindicated ! I''m going to save face, no matter how many men get killed in the process. I''m the important one, not them."

Bush: "And we''re going to win and we''re going to succeed."

Based on what ? Puerile wishful thinking. That''s all Bush has.

America has paid a stiff price for "faith-based" initiatives like the war in Iraq.

And a stiff price for putting a goofy cheerleader in the Oval Office.

Thirty-seven percent (37%) of Americans approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Sixty-one percent (61%) disapprove.

Those figures include 18% who Strongly Approve and 43% who Strongly Disapprove."

Over two weeks ago Iraqis had there "defining" moment when over 500 Iraqis were murdered in northern Iraq. It was their 9-11, where is there declaration of war? Where is there unity?
Why have they not imposed "gas rationing" with gas rationing ids, odomenter readings, gas locks etc. to thwart the "suicide attacks" ? When are they going to Stand Up?

If he believes that, gslinger3 is the "visionary"

(In the Timothy Leary sense.)

George W Bush has already gone down in the history books. He''s gone down where no President has gone before.

Over 60% of Americans "Disapprove" of him.

Over 40% of Americans "Strongly Disapprove" of him. They hate his guts.

Don''t hold your breath until future historians reverse that.

Certainly not among the governments of the 21 counties'' governments listed below who are leaving or have left altogether.

If they felt there was an ice cube''s chance in hell that this boondoggle will result in anything other than total failure, they''d stick around to share in the credit for its success.

Their decision to leave Dubya alone in his crusade canoe speaks volumes....

From ABC News

Now, administration officials are recommending Bush stand by his war strategy until the spring, and Bush is considered unlikely to order more than a symbolic cut in troops before the end of the year. Officials familiar with the assessment spoke on condition of anonymity to describe decisions not yet publicly released.

Signs of progress in Iraq will come when Bush leaves office and a real President replaces him.

Then we''ll see signs of progress in Iraq.

And America.

This is a very dangerous game for a party that has already become a regional party. Republican''s in most of the nation understand what WE the People are saying and KNOW that We the People will change things in November. If the leadership of the Republican Party, which is firmly in the hands of a Southern Fascist, block the will of the people much longer, there''s going to be a real revolution much like the one experienced during the late 50''s and 60''s. The PEOPLE of this nation have been lied to for so long and abused by Corporate Interest to the extent they are willing to overthrow the Bush Administration right now by force.

No wonder the situation has gone to hell.

"This is not the time for any proposals of a scaling down of Australian forces."

It''s really reassuring to know that the 541 Aussies will remain, eh?

What''s more impressive is the list of countries that have pared down or quit Dubya''s boondoggle altogether:

Nicaragua
Spain
Dominican Republic
Honduras
Philippines
Thailand
New Zealand
Tonga
Portugal
The Netherlands
Hungary
Singapore
Norway
Ukraine
Japan
Italy
Slovakia
Poland
Denmark
South Korea
United Kingdom

How anyone can look at Iraq after 5 years and see anything but defeat there is beyond me. I know what Bush is trying to do. He wants to somehow stop any different approach until he''s out of office. I guess he thinks that the Mistakes made will not be placed on him, although how he thinks this is beyond me. We are American''s though and WE have a responsibility to the security of our Country and not to make sure a Southern Fascist saves face. Our Military can not endure much more and now they will most certainly be faced with hit and run attacks in convoys from the south. We should not take our eye off the real enemy though and thats what Bush has done. Al Qaeda has rebuilt and they used Bush''s War to do it. We have to ask ourselves where our priorities are... catching those who planned and carried out the attacks against us or continuing to pursue some Right Wing goal of world domination.

Whoa there sparky! You didn''t have a little of the Old Magic Swastika this morning did ya? ROFLMAO Let''s review for you, and for god''s sake take off the stupid sheet... Iraq HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH BIN LADEN OR THE ATTACK ON THIS COUNTRY! The Resistence to our War of Aggression is NOW in Control of the SECOND Largest City in the Country. The REAL enemy has completely rebuilt in ANOTHER Country AND they used this war of aggression against an Arab Nation to RECRUIT those people. We just saw, in Germany, the results of Bush''s Complete FAILURE or weren''t you watching? He''s a complete loser and a NAZI. He thought, FIVE LONG YEARS AGO, he''d just walk into Bagdad and start telling these proud people how to Govern themselves and he''s had his lunch handed to him. Maybe you can be proud of all that failure but not me! Combat Vet, RVN, 1968
