That the people that masterminded our Iraqi involvement have the gall to call themselves conservatives is in itself a travesty. They have thrown individual liberty under the boot of a bloated repressive federal government. They refuse to honor the checks and balances system of our forefathers. They have created an Imperial executive branch, demonstratably not responsive to the will of the people.

The Real Reason We''''re In Iraq:

An influential group of conservatives convinced President George W. Bush that it was in America''''s best interests to conquer Iraq as a first step toward dominating the oil-producing nations in the Middle East. There was no "exit plan" because we never intended to exit. The plan was, and is, to build military bases in Iraq and stay there forever. Our leaders also see Iraq as a place to make money. So Bush & Co. have set up their friends to cash in on the rebuilding of Iraq.

..............

Yes, that is all outlined in the P.N.A.C. doctrine, (created in 1997), as I mentioned earlier.

... and George W. Bush was the special-ed yes-man, chosen by the Neo-Cons who would be their figure head, ushering in this gross imperialistic age of 21st century America.

...oh, and yes, containment under the UN accord and the Clinton administration was working perfectly fine, until...

...a bunch of fascist Neo-Cons such as Cheney, Wolfowitz, Feith, Crystol, and others created something called PNAC, which was the document that set forth the beginning of the end of the U.S. as a well respected world power.

jowand, infedel_us, screen_name, and the like...

...all convinced that their 18th century minded, fascist wealthy tax cutters are God''s answer for humanity. All of this misinformation instilled by their bigoted parents, who most likely supported segregation and slavery in their years.

But that''s okay, as we intellectuals who frequently comment on this board would get severely bored if all we did was share ideas that are somewhat agreeable in some form or another. We need people like the aforementioned to give us some comic relief that without these types of people, (jowand, infedel_us, screen_name), who would rotate our tires, retrieve the shopping carts, and serve our food at the drive-thru-window?!

Emergency contracts that have not been fulfilled - billions of your hard-earned tax dollars have gone to Halliburton for nothing and the services they have provided have war-profiteer prices. Now they are in Dubai where they cannot be held accountable when this debacle ends.

Was the ground fire aimed at these war supporting Senators coming from insurgents, the Iraqi army, or our troops? Hard to say.

You really don''t have a clue about anything that''s going on, do you?

"Under normal circumstances, the Army Corps of Engineers would have been required to put the oil fire contract out for competitive bidding. But in times of emergency, when national security is involved, the government is allowed to bypass normal procedures and award contracts to a single company, without competition.

And that''s exactly what happened with Halliburton."

Nothing to do with Haliburton!?!?!

What planet are you from? They were awarded no-bid contracts for the Iraq reconstruction BEFORE the occupation began.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/04/25/60minutes/main551091.shtml

"Even before the first shots were fired in Iraq, the Pentagon had secretly awarded Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown & Root a two-year, no-bid contract to put out oil well fires and to handle other unspecified duties involving war damage to the country%u2019s petroleum industry. It is worth up to $7 billion."
