- Rubes from both sides of the aisle will continue to say "huh" "whaaaa" when the growing numbers of dead troops are listed. This will continue until their lil' JR is effected by a draft... then watch the stampede for deferments!
What percentage of those pushing for "fighting for freedom" in another country actually HAVE a dog in the fight OR have a blood kin's name on THE WALL in DC? - Reply to this comment
- johnpatrick9--Well said, but aside from the benighted 24%, there is a group of evil men and women who serve the interests of Anglo-American capital who want the Iraqi oil production and are quite willing to see millions dead to get it.
Far more Americans than this 24% support the Washington Regime's actions...All of the mainstream candidates have, in one way or another, announced support for war--in Iran, Pakistan, Iraq and equivocate on peace. Hillary is getting support from Rupert Murdoch, the ardent hawk and Israel-firster who owns FOX and now the WSJ. Many Neo-Cons are going over to Giuliani...
I lost count of the Kerry supporters I talked with prior to the election who ignored his pro-war positions--more hawkish than Bush-- and smugly believed that he could move mountains and turn bread into wine...ignoring the men behind him....
If Americans don't vote for peace, they are going to get continued war. - Reply to this comment
- Defense Secretary Gates said the U.S. underestimated the divisions and mistrust between the Shiite's and Sunni's but the U.S. underestimated more than that! The U.S. underestimated Iran and Syria's involvement and efforts to undermine U.S. efforts in Iraq. At almost no cost to them at all, Iran and Syria can wreak havoc against the U.S. mission in Iraq. Iran and Syria don't have to fly anywhere, sail anywhere and can be completely disruptive on the cheap! Not having a plan in place to deal with Iran and Syria allowing their borders to be used by insurgents was a military blunder and has proven to be a nightmare.

- What we are doing in Iraq is a disgrace not a liberation. Our nation, the United States is rotting internally both in spirit, ideals and liberties as a result of this lying absurd aggression. If you support this maddness then go over there and stop being a hypocrite willing to spend the lives of other mens' sons and daughters but not your own or that of your family.
Only some 24% NONTHINKING YAHOOS supported this absurd bloodshed and now America has awakened to the mistake and shame of allowing neo-nazis to run our Republic. Iraq is not ours to lose it is for the Iraquiis to figure out on their own and if they choose slavery then so be it but it is not worth one drop of our blood or treasure. Bloody waste. - Reply to this comment
- Don't worry, Haifa Street is safe...its all been worth while...General Betrayus can go for a stroll with his flunkies and the Green Zone inbed media...Our new Vatican City-sized embassy compound will have a swimming pool...won't that be jolly? Electricity for Baghdad can come later...clean water (except for the pool) can come later...safe streets, adequate medical care...sanitation? Later, later, later..."We're the Americans and we're here to help"...is about as welcome in Iraq, as FEMA is in Louisiana... "We're here from the government and we're here to help."
Soldiers! Your enemy and the enemy of the Republic is in Washington! The borders are open, the nation betrayed...Come Home Now!! - Reply to this comment
- Ask yourself what will happen if we abandon the iraqi people when they need us the most? There will always be wars and always be soldiers dying in them! Salute to all who have given their life so that others could live free!!!

The U.S. should redeploy but not to Kuwait, it's too far to respond quickly. The U.S. can kill 2 birds with one stone by redeploying to Kurdistan and get in between the 140,000 troops Turkey has on Iraq's border intimidating the Kurds and preventing Kurdish rebels from attacking inside Turkey all the while staying closer to Iraq to respond quickly if the predicted genocide starts to take place. No Americans have died in Kurdistan to date and General Mixon claims Kurdistan is good duty! It will give U.S. troops a must needed break, keep U.S. Forces near by, give the Iraqi's who supported the U.S. a level of comfort knowing they are not being completely abandoned and finally give the Iraqi's a chance to see if they can handle their own security and test Nouri al-Maliki's claim the U.S. can leave anytime it wants. I like Joe Biden's plan to split Iraq into 3 regions of Kurd, Sunni and Shiite but the U.S. can either implement that plan or just redeploy sooner. - Reply to this comment
- If we abandon Iraq, it will be a disgrace that we will not live down for at least 100 years. Furthermore, it will cost many american lives in the future if we fail to crush our enemies now. History belongs to the conquerors. Thats who all of us living are, the decendants of the conquerors. Our ancestors killed everything in sight to give this land to us. If we fail to kill our enemies, they WILL kill us!!!

"abandon the people of Iraq"?
You must be kidding.
Over 10% of the Iraqi population fled Iraq. The other 90% wish we would leave.
ExxonMobil and other war profiteers, including those in the ExxonMobil installed Iraqi "government," do not represent the Iraqi people.
"Freedom means nothing left to lose," (Kris Kristofferson, Janis Joplin), so you are correct the US routinely "frees" people. But, it is hard to enjoy that "freedom" since they are dead. - Reply to this comment

You Nazi's had better wake the F--K up. These people have done their home work folks and they KNOW southern fascist better than even we did during the 60's. They are fighting a war without even being involved... that's right, they are using the Civil War in Iraq as a front to kill American's and to suck the life out of this nation. They KNOW these fascist who lead us and they KNOW what they will or will not do BEFORE they do it. They USE them like some two bit *** to recruit new people and to gain power in the region. Just think for yourself here... if you were looking on and watching, would you really have any concern if people who are representing Southern Fascist were blown up in your streets? No you wouldn't!! This Administration didn't have a clue how to fight Terrorist because most of them WERE terrorist when they were young. Sieg Heil Y'all. - Reply to this comment

- The US is not at war with Iraq.
US soldiers are occupying Iraq. They are not engaged in "combat" in Iraq. They are playing policemen.
The media is promoting propaganda when they refer to the "Iraq war." There is no such thing.
These soldiers were murdered during their occupation of Iraq.
George Bush murdered them. - Reply to this comment

What will happen is that the Iraqis will determine for themselves who shall govern them as they should.
The majority of Iraqis neither need or want our occupation. If they did, they would not be leaving their homes to become refugees at a rate of 60,000 a month.
That's 2,000 Iraqis a day stating "we're better off being refugees".
What does that tell you? - Reply to this comment

Were the iraqis "free" before we "liberated" them?
Are they "free" today?
Is freedom being able to vote?
Or being able to send your kids off to school safely? - Reply to this comment
- "Meanwhile Iraq's political crisis worsened Monday as five more ministers announced a boycott of Cabinet meetings %u2014 leaving the embattled prime minister's unity government with no members affiliated with Sunni political factions."
Nine more American warriors and $200 million dollars wasted just yesterday while Iraq fragments further and the neocons claim something is being achieved.
