Casualties Down In July; Some Critics Of War Strategy Find Reason For Encouragement

When are you going to move out the hypothetical stage? This war is already Four years old and was planned before 9/11 there%u2019s plenty of information for why the Bush Admin went into Iraq but the real reason lies in PNAC. Now what%u2019s next, Iran and possibly another 9/11 in the US? That%u2019s what matters, what%u2019s going on now and will happen next. - Reply to this comment
- So Bush and Cheney worked to manufacture the current war(s) for their own profit. The big question is, what is the next level for them? How far will they go for the sake of their own power and control?
Bottom line is this:
Cherish and spend as much time with your family as you can. Tell them how much you love them. For our families will be the last thing we remember and our best source of comfort in the very turbulent times ahead. - Reply to this comment

- Hussain was the ONLY ONE is a position to decide if his people lived or died. HE was responsible for the suffering. No president here, Rep. or Dem., liked or was responsible for what happened.

Hussein's "government" was getting closer to being overthrown under the weight of the sanctions. If Bush had used his brain (ok...so he hasn't got one...but still...) he would have worked with the people in Iraq who wanted to overthrow him when he weakened further, rather then the pure raw stupidity of a land invasion into that quicksand. That way Saddam would be gone, but the Iraqi infrastructure would still be in place and it would have cost us one soldiers life and quite probably less then a billion dollars in weapons and support. Instead Bush used "pre-911 thinking" and went with the old and always previously failed option of leading us into a war of insurgency. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! - Reply to this comment

- The only 'business' we had in going to war in Iraq, was the businesses of the Carlyle Group, Halliburton, Bechtel, BlackWater, etc.
Those companies represents the whole reason why we are in an endless "War on Terror".
THE WHOLE REASON!!!
Many of you already know how corrupt our government is due to the special interests of the corporations in America. But do you know how corrupt? Corrupt to the point where a government would manufacture lies/excuses to bring an entire country (if not the entire world) into a very bloody and costly war?
Yes.
9/11, WMD, 'spreading democracy'.... all manufactured lies/excuses.
And the common American is paying for it, in either blood and/or tax dollars.
Will Bush and Cheney and all of their Neo-Cons go quietly into the night after the 2008 elections? I'm affraid to say that I highly doubt it! - Reply to this comment

- EdinTex,
Re: "No president here, Rep. or Dem., liked or was responsible for what happened."
Have you ever considered running for office?
"Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?"
"Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it."
