Why aren't the soccer fans wearing Iraqi uniforms and defending their country instead of attending sports events? It always strikes me that there are so many adult males not in uniform showing up to mingle in the streets during celebrations or after bombings.

Maybe they're all on vacation.

They don't deserve our help.

3,637 dead American troops, the latest killed yesterday, did anyone read about that ? I didn't see a single mention of it. Our troops are being killed, and so is any reporting of it. WHY ? Where are the reporters ? Where are their editors ? OH - that's right, they are right wing corporate money changing Republicans who support the president, I forgot. ALL REPUBLICANS MUST GO DOWN in the next election. Yes, the "new majority party" has triangulated themselves to the brink of extinction, so far from what Americans want, we should just help them over the cliff. This way, Senator McConnell, this way Congressman Dryer, here's a flag to wave on your way down. They say when the next terrorist attack happens, everyone will flock back to the President. I think just the opposite, I expect another attack of some kind eventually, and that will just prove that the Iraq war isn't stopping al Qaeda, it's helping them recruit fighters for their ultimate victory. I don't want them to have a victory, but Bush gave it to them the moment he landed troops in Iraq and took out Saddam Hussein, their enemy, and Iran's enemy. It was the stupidest thing America could have done.

Wow, I'm sure glad Bush has his new "Stay the Course Part 5" plan in place.

What a relief it is to see things going so well in Iraq.

Freedom is really on the march.

Every day is like the fourth of July in Iraq. They're always celebrating their freedom and blowing stuff up.

j-whitman -- Well, it actually WAS being covered until the really important stuff started to happen -- Paris Hilton, Lohan, and even an update on that girl who disappeared in Aruba. In fact, according to O'Reilly's VERY GOOD UNNAMED SOURCES, she actually died of some type of heart failure related to cocaine use. He's so amazing, that O'Reilly -- being able to dig that "hard news" up when they never found a body!

I would LOVE to see some good news on Iraq, even on Fox. I read/watch Fox every day -- I don't recall any Iraq good news, unless "fewer people died than usual today" is good news, and I just didn't recognize it! In the meantime, 50-100 soccer fans being blown up by fanatics continues to be news.

News stories concerning improvement on the ground in Iraq, only Tony Snow could do that.

In the first 14 days of July, 301 bodies were found in Baghdad, or an average of nearly 22 a day, compared to 19 a day in June, when 563 bodies were found, according to AP figures, gathered from daily reports by Iraqi police.

"Wednesday, July 25, 2007

Forty-one percent (41%) of the nation's Likely Voters want Congress to formally censure President Bush. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 47% are opposed while 12% are not sure.

Those figures are little changed from a survey conducted early in 2006 when 38% of the nation's adults favored censure and 45% were opposed.

The 41% support for censuring the President is little different from the 39% who believe Bush should be impeached and removed from office.

Senator Russell Feingold (D) said Sunday that he wants Congress to censure the President for his management of the War and his "assault" upon the Constitution. Democratic leaders are cool to the idea and just 42% of voters want to see the Senate vote on the matter. Just 37% are opposed to a Senate vote."

NOTICE THAT CBS IS RELUCTANT TO CARRY THE EVOLVING STORY OF IMPROVEMENT ON THE GROUND WITH THE SURGE.

Posted by doctorwho4 at 09:56 AM : Jul 25, 2007

Is there any news outlet, excluding Fox News, that is carrying any stories of improvement on the ground? Any?

Poll: More Muslims Reject Bombings
Muslims around the world increasingly reject suicide bombings and other violence against civilians in defense of Islam, according to a new international poll dealing with how the world's population judges their lives, countries and national institutions.
A wide ranging survey of international attitudes in 47 countries by the Pew Research Center also reported that in many of the countries where support for suicide attacks has declined, there has also has been decreasing support for al-Qaida leader Osama bin-Laden.
