Where are you guys getting your paranoia ?

US President George W. Bush has been accused by Zbigniew Brzezinski of suffering from Manichaean paranoia, namely after the 11 September 2001 terror attacks (aka 9/11). Controversial political issues such as the 'War on Terrorism', the status of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, the use of torture to obtain information from suspected terrorists, and domestic spying may be considered examples of immoral actions justified by the fact that they are only pursued to stop or against immoral people (generally meaning terrorists or those who help terrorists). Rewarding those loyal to the administration and a great suspicion of criticism can also be seen typical of the intensely dualistic view of good (loyalty) and evil (criticism of what is good). George W. Bush is often described as holding loyalty in high esteem, but having very little patience for criticism.

Brzeninski's phrase is manifold in irony. Mani, after whom Manichaenism was named, was from what is now Iran. And Manichaeism has been considered a form of heresy from within the historical Christian sensibility. To accuse George W. Bush of this particular kind of paranoia is to both align him with his enemies (Iran in the "axis of evil"), and separate him from his political base (Christian conservatives). The phrase is a rhetorical flourish as much as a description of a mental state. -From Wikipedia

[Everything you suggest here is a gross violation of those laws. Not only would you get an Islam outrage, you would get Catholic, Christian, Jewish etc.....]
---

Islam is a gross violation of American law. The Quran teaches muslims to kill all non-muslims unless they convert to Islam. That is prejudiced and an affront to freedom and democratic values. Our laws are not designed to shelter religious bigots and war-mongers that muslims are...so it'll be on our side-those who want to ride the West of Islam.

[Every religion if this country would find these actions a threat to their well being. If you don't have anything better than this for a suggestion, you are living in la la land cause this is not going to happen. Posted by clestes]
----

Of course muslim cowards would wrap themselves in the flag of 'religious tolerance' and political correctness-its working like a charm in Britain, but eventually Europeans will learn you're all terrorists in sheep's clothing.

There's only one religion in the world responsible for 95% of the world's terrorism and that's Islam. It is intended to force the West to surrender to your psychotic cult but its not going to work, as Iraq and Afghanistan proves.

Agreed-what I gave was just a brief summary (without details) of how to handle the Islam problem in the West. We westerners must remember that Islam is more than a death cult, it is a fascist totalitarian ideology-much worse than Nazism which as destroyed cultures/countries/civilizations for over 1400 years.

Muslims are not here to integrate, but to infiltrate/invade and destroy our democracies from within and replace them with Islamic rule/Sharia Law. Islamic supremacy and conquering the West is openly preached, so there's no doubt on their intentions. We'd be foolish not to fight this onslaught-which has already begun with their global jihad/terrorism.

The NIE Report offered an implicit answer to "are we safer?"
"In many respects, the National Intelligence Estimate suggests the threat of terrorist violence against the United States is growing worse, fueled by the Iraq War and subsequent spreading of Islamic extremism"
This is what our leadership has read and we still are "staying the course" and "making gains." Doesn't this tell everyone that we need new leadership ~ that we do not need Vice President Cheney calling the shots any more, that we do not need Karl Rove looking for another photo-op for President Bush?

Another excerpt:
"All told, despite the absence of any new attack on American soil since 2001, the conclusion that Al Qaeda %u201Cwill continue to enhance its capabilities%u201D to attack the United States suggests some miscalculation in the administration%u2019s basic formula against terrorism: that attacking the jihadists overseas would protect the homeland."
Is this leadership not listening or can they simply not read.

Any strong government/country that understands Islam is a dark ages barbaric death cult would do the following:

-ban all preaching of Islam, abolish mosques
-demand that muslims convert to any non-violent religion or become atheist or else be deported
-track down and eliminate all islamic terrorists

You obviously have no understanding of American laws. Everything you suggest here is a gross violation of those laws. Not only would you get an Islam outrage, you would get Catholic, Christian, Jewish etc.....

Every religion if this country would find these actions a threat to their well being.

If you don't have anything better than this for a suggestion, you are living in la la land cause this is not going to happen.

Ok, let me try. How about a Do-Nothing Congress that has had six months to show us all what they can do? And they did. Nothing.
Posted by infidel_us at 04:11 PM : Jul 18, 2007

I couldn't agree more. They should have saddled up, indicted and impeached George and D!ck the first week they were in office.

How about the "drain the swamp" Speaker of the House....giving us the most ethical and open congress in history? Are we any better? Nope.
Posted by infidel_us at 04:11 PM : Jul 18, 2007

I agree with this as well. It seems that the more corrupt you are, the more you can get done in Congress. The Pelosi should have come in and used the same unethical tactics that her predecessors were using. Lying, bribing, lobbying, and *** her way to a more powerful caucus.
