"U.S. forces are waging an offensive in the city of Baquba, just north of Baghdad, to uproot al Qaeda militants and Sunni insurgents using the region to launch attacks in the capital. But American commanders acknowledged that many extremists fled Baquba before the sweep began in mid-June."

Let's see - there was no al-Qaeda in Iraq before we invaded.
Just last month, we were arming the Sunni insurgents so that they could fight al-Qaeda - (Following the "an enemy of my enemy must be my enemy too" mantra.)
The Islamic extremists probably fled before the sweep began, because they were probably tipped off by the Iraq military / police AGAIN!!

"3,599 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count."

So now some Republicans have decided that's enough? They could have reached the same conclusion a thousand US deaths ago. The result will be the same. But they were sneering and mocking people who made that point, freely charging "treason" and "cowardice."

Still, late is better than never. These rats are now scared for their political skins. And they should, and hopefully will, be skinned next year. So Dems, show some guts for once. Pelosi, grow some gonads and initiate impeachment proceedings in the house against Bushit and Darth NOW!

Dear CBS,

Re: "Explosively formed penetrators are high-tech bombs that the U.S. believes are provided by Iran, a charge denied by Tehran."

You have no authority to speak for the 'U.S.'. Almost nobody, anywhere 'believes' this silly claim. A shaped-charge projectile can be made almost anywhere.

So will John Boehner visit the Republicans jumping off the SS. Bush and cry in front of them as they essentially sign on to a surrender bill similar to the one he cried about a few months ago? Or will he be a scumbag and act like he never made that pathetic speech?

a href="http://www.michaelyon-online.com/wp/update-on-bless-the-beasts-and-children.htm" Although I can%u2019t answer to the cause of the problem, I humbly offer permission to media outlets to republish excerpts of the dispatch or the dispatch in its entirety, including my photographs from the story (if used as they are in the dispatch) at no cost during the month of July 2007. I only ask that the site receive proper attribution and that any publication taking me up on the offer email the website with the details. /a

The "problem" he refers to is the fact that somehow CBS/ABC/NBC/PBS/Fox viewers don't know squat about this major, superbly documented story.

So Cons, Republicans are slowly distancing themselves from Bush's Iraq policy. When the rats jump off the ship en masse out of fear of the 2008 elections, will you admit they never really had the stomach to face Al-Qaeda to begin with? After all, if one can't stand on principle up to the 2008 elections, how can they stand firm to defeat Al-Qaeda?
