Just to correct a misstatement in the story, there in fact is a level of military application that can stop the violence in Iraq. We're just not prepared to re-install another iron-fisted ruler, or kill two-thirds of the population to achieve complete, unconditional surrender (think Japan.)

Not that there aren't good reasons not to do so, but there are, in fact, military options to secure the peace. We're just not willing to use them. But fret not, when we leave, someone eventually will.

I agree with you up to a point.

Since it is highly unlikely that Bush or anyone else in his crime syndicate will face justice (serve prison time), I'll reserve my happiness being dependent on Bush serving prison time.

I surely do not want my happiness dependent on the fate of a little low-life weasel.

It is hardly news anymore that there are evil killers raoming Iraq. Maybe that is why we don't want 150,000 Americans stuck in the middle of that hellhole. Maybe that is why a majority of Americans, not to mention several former generals, want to redeploy and focus on fighting Al Quaeda rather than being stuck in an Islamic civil war.
