- Fine fine fine, my biggest fear is that you people win your arguement, and we pull out of Iraq completely. The the terrorist will be free to overthrow the gov. Then they will torture and murder every man woman and child who does not convert to their form of Islam. They will go into the schools with their GD version of Mickey Mouse and teach little children to hate and kill christians. They will train thousands of suicide bombers from the day they are born. Then after a few hundred thousand deaths from terrist attacks you may reconsider your stance. Then me and my children will have to go back and do this all over again. Stop ******** about it. You people are like a kids that dont want to clean their room because its hot outside. People die in war. But this has been the most publisized war in history, that is the only reason why the opposition to the war efforts are so strong. What are the casualties. The civil war rose over 600,000. Was that not worth it?

- bm6005,
Oh come on you hypocrite. Let's not fail to mention your poster boy Bill Clinton. He friggin ran away from the country to avoid the draft. And John Kerry, he put in for 5 deferments to try to get out of going to Vietnam, but his problem was , the deferments were all to attend college in Paris, France!
If you're gonna accuse anyone, better accues them all.
And Hillary never served.
And Chelsea never served.
And Monica never served (oops, pardon me, she DID service Bill, my mistake) - Reply to this comment
- I hope that 'anti-war' critic demonizes his own son now. Bet he's laughing all the way to the bank with the publicity he's getting from his son's death. He's hoping to make millions off interviews, book deals, and probably a made-for-television movie out of it.
He doesn't give a *** about his dead son. He's gonna be the male version of Cindy Sheehan, you watch. - Reply to this comment
- Bush fabricated there were WMD in Iraq. We had no reason to believe they existed. He acted on those fabrications. He was wrong for that, but with the best intentions.
Hiclay2000
Wait wait wait wait....
You said Bush fabricated the evidence then acted on his own lies, but he did it (invaded Iraq on the lies he fabricated) with the best intentions.
So.... Let me try to wrap my mind around this. It's OK to create false evidence, blatant lies about WMD, then use those lies you created to invade a country that had NOTHING to do with Bin Laden and 9/11 (except in the lies you fabricated), if you lie with the best intentions?
Anyone else see the problem with this? - Reply to this comment
- None of us here are against the WOT. We just want to redirect efforts to the real enemy. Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11! Get that thru your thick skulls Bushies. Our attack on Iraq has done NOTHING good to our efforts against terrorists. The incompetents in this admin have dramatically failed!!

So for Hiclay2000, this bears repeating for those of you who don't understand. These people are more than willing to send working class to fight wars as THEY DID NOT!!! - Reply to this comment
- "ourtomorrows, Bush isn't Churchill and it's not "just like World War II". They say that those who forget history are condemned to repeat it, well those who get history wrong are condemned to get us stuck in foolish wars.Posted by shingles1 at 01:33 AM : May 17, 2007"
"ourtomorrows, etc. Whereas you disagree with others for denouncing our President, you are mistaken, unless you disagree with another Republican President. Theodore Roosevelt stated it is the patriotic duty of every American to question the choices of the President. Posted by IdlePugilist at 11:31 PM : May 16, 2007"
Thank you to Shingles1 and IdlePugilist for your responses to my post. As a point of clarification Shingles1, I did not in my post compare the President to Churchill or the current Iraqui situation to World War II. I was simply making the statement that many, like Chamberlain was, are blind to what some of us believe is a real, pervasive threat. I would agree with you IdlePugilist that it is every American's responsibility to challenge the ideas and policies of our elected officials and speak out about them, but I don't think that means inherently calling the President deragotory names or threatening his life. If you do not respect the man fine, but there should be basic respect for the office. - Reply to this comment
- Must we be so stupid and senile to believe in a war without dead?
What have you now?
Pain and angry and you will die alone!
I am angry too. America is losing its youth.
Killing them in the name of defending our country aggression by enemies that are living here.
However, we go to Iraq or Afghanistan to kill them. 20.000 kilometer from America.
What a poor patriotism! - Reply to this comment
- Focus on Al Q and Taliban started long before the Bush Admin. Infact, Al Q failed an attempt to hijack a comercial airliner in 1996. This was possibly the first attempt towards what happened on 9/11

Right. Then why did this admin choose to ignore them and invade Iraq. We knew Iraq had nothing (ZERO, NADA, NIL, ZIP, NOTHING, .00000000001) to do with 9/11, Bin Laden, and Terrorism. We had proof of this. Yet bush himself said in March of 2002 they he didn't care where bin laden was and really wasn't concerned with him anymore.
Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11. - Reply to this comment
- "The war on terrorism didn%u2019t start with Iraq, it only enlightened it. "
Wrong. There was no war on terrorism in Iraq until we brought it there. The war in Iraq has been the single greatest recruiting tool Al Quida has, and we deleivered it to them on a gold platter. - Reply to this comment
- [The problem with these discussions is that people fail to separate the two issues ... My personal view is we should focus less of our efforts on Iraq, and more on the war on terrorism. This does not mean pulling out of Iraq.]
i thought the war in iraq WAS the front line in the war on terrorism ... so how do you shift your focus ... when you're losing 100 soldiers a month ... and spending $300 million a day. - Reply to this comment

- Hey, at least O'Donnell's happy. Another low IQ grunt who's probably a felon is gone from the earth. Of course, I haven't heard her say a word about the three illegal immigrant 'terrorists' in NJ that don't exist and that we don't have to fear. Of course, the Feds won't admit they exist either ... and the Dems want them so they'll get voted in. I used to be proud of my country. Not anymore.

- And Yeah... its "US" all of us. because more than half the people that voted in the last two national elections voted for the Morons that are in our White house now. And no terrorists who do decide to attack 'us' are going to differentiate between the idiots that voted for the GOP and the smart people that didnt.
So thanks for making about 3 billion people hate the US and its people George. - Reply to this comment
- Its not just the "terrorists" such as AlQuaida or Taliban or foreigners launching bombs and attacks agains the US forces. Many if not most are from Iraqis on either side of the Islamic division.
It doesnt take an ideological cause to attack Americans anymore. Its just pure hate. Every poll in the last 3 years has indicated that a majority of Iraqis want Americans out of their country. They blame our presence for the massive addtions of foriegners come to launch attacks. They blame us for destroying the infrastructure and then not providing security and border protectiong while repairing it.
Recent Polls indicate that a majority think its ok if not a good thing to kill americans.
They never 'liked' Americans anyway, they take the our cultural freedoms and lump them in with our Greed, and immoral ways and that America to them. You add in that we invaded the middle east ..pretty much ALone, and 4 years later have left a country in chaos and danger and a nightmare for those citizens that are peaceful, and a nightmare for parents and spouses and children of soldiers.
They have lotsa reasons to hate us and its not about us being free. - Reply to this comment
- Than we share the same blood as Veterans OORAH!!!
The problem with these discussions is that people fail to separate the two issues.
The war in Iraq.
and the War on terrorism.
The war on terrorism didn%u2019t start with Iraq, it only enlightened it.
My personal view is we should focus less of our efforts on Iraq, and more on the war on terrorism. This does not mean pulling out of Iraq.
We could be here all day discussing different ways to approach that.
The war on terrorism is real and our efforts in that war should not be compromised.
The terrorists are fighting for control in Iraq. We must give our allies a chance to organize themselves as an opposing force to these terrorists. - Reply to this comment

It certainly isn't beyond the pale of the neo-cons to make that happen... With Dibold in their pocket, they have the potential to give the electoral process an electronic flat tire. - Reply to this comment
