"we are just emboldening our enemies in iraq, as long as we continue to stay there!!! bushs foriegn policy is only exacerbating terrorist world wide."

What neocons don't realize is (or don't want to realize), Iraq is nothing but a diversion. Al Queda sends a bunch of dumba$$ suicide bomber amateurs over to Iraq (which are not hard to find) to bloody Americans and suck billions out of our treasury. Meanwhile, the A-list terrorists are in countries like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, planning the real attacks against America. Then, when we get hit agin (and we will, whether it be next year or ten years from now), everyone will be standing around wondering what the h3ll we were doing wasting our time in Iraq.

This simple terrorist strategy is apparently beynd our neocon armchair generals.

Was simply a statement that the people depicted in that story cannot possibly be representative of Christianity as a whole, because they obviously operate directly the opposite. Are you that blind for realz?

The purpose of Alexandria Pelosi's film was just that - to depict Christains as overzealots, fanics and comparable to our friends in the Middle East. It's a nice boost for Christain bashing. If that wasn't your intent, I apologize, I've just about had it with all the negativity against the right and these comparisons.

"Isn't that the film that Pelosi's daughter is critiquing? Seems that you all like to bash Christains. Well, society seems to be in good shape with the Hollywood values types -- violence, sloth and immorality. Not much in the value department or showing an ethical side. After all isn't that the montra you all profess, i.e., we can be moral and ethical without being religious? Well, check out Va. Tech."

Where the hell in my post did I ever bash Christians? Learn2read.

Isn't worshipping a false god one of the biggy sins as a "Christian?" Seems to me these folks aren't very Christian, and shouldn't be referred to as such.

"Jesus Camp is a documentary about the "Kids On Fire" summer camp, located just outside Devils Lake, North Dakota and run by Becky Fischer and her ministry, Kids in Ministry International. All three children, despite their youth, are very devout charismatic Christians
In November 2006, Fischer announced that she would be shutting down the camp indefinitely due to negative reaction to the film."

Hey, Gringo, you're right -- nothing good comes from the South -- south of the border, too. Best thing that happened to the Al Maliki government, Al Sadr's lackies left. Like Pelosi, Al Sadr was nothing more than a shadow leader. Seems to me you're more full of hate than those phoney Christain creeps.

Here it goes-- never one to delay a bloodbath when one is possible, al Sadr is all set to make civil war his gateway to the Iraq of the future. Compounding the idiocy, Bush clings desperately to the hope he will not have to leave his name as the last American to turn out the lights in Iraq.

Already, the exodus out of Iraq is reaching a floodtide. Interpreters for the US Army and Marines-- people who once admired the US-- are being told unofficially there is no easy path through the red tape to leave Iraq. They are told they must learn to fend for themselves, and look after their own families, because we cannot. This, typical Bush gratitude for putting their lives on the line for Americans.

We are reminded of another Bush indifferent to Iraqi suffering-- Bush, Sr. Having secured terms after Gulf War I, Bush1 left both the Shia in the South and the Kurds in the North to the percy of Saddam's helicopter gunships. The carnage and suffering was unimaginable. Men, women, children-- all butchered so horrednously even Bush's Secretary of State felt obliged to visit a Kurdish refugee camp, filled with freezing survivors, to show concern.

Someone on this blog one year ago insisted the Iraqis were confirmed on the road to "recovery" and really wanted Americans to stay and safeguard the reconstruction. It is a safe bet today no Iraq wants to be seen with an American-- and it is easy to see why.

wonder when CBS will stop regurgitating the Bush Propoganda slogans? No one believes that Iraq is part of the "War on Terror". Iraq is a literal "War OF Terror" caused by the deliberate LIES of Cheney/Bush.

I couldn't agree with you more, the media prior to the Iraq invasion was just regurgitating everything it was told by the administration to justify war without questioning any of it.

Everyone forgets that the media is like every other industry in this country, profit is the primary motivator not accurate or responsible reporting. Very nice post. Time to go to bed and do the 9 to 5 grind. Where's that winning lottery ticket when you need it? Take care and good night. Badaxmofo, he's doesn't seem like a bad guy but he sure is stubborn. Have a great week.

waynabq:

I've got news for you on one point. Bush/Cheney did not "want to believe" there were WMDs in Iraq.

Bush DID believe they were there because he is a fairly piable, simple-minded puppet that Cheney can feed and get the desired result. On the other hand, Cheney is completely informed and KNEW there was NO evidence of any WMD, and he KNEW that Saddam was not a threat to the US. This is a DUH! He set up Office of Special Plans in DoD precisely to end-run the CIA with Chalabi/curveball fake "intelligence sources" that he could use on the Sunday morning talk shows and with Jusith Miller.

This Whole WAR Is nothing but a needless, horrific NeoConCON!

Which is why Cheney and Bush belong in JAIL as they are nothing more than greedy, sick, murderous thugs!

"The weapons didn't go anywhere. They were destroyed by the UN weapons inspectors over the period of the first Gulf War and the end of the Clinton administration.

That's why U.S. forces didn't find any WMDs during the initial invasion, get it?"

Except for the 500 or so chemical rounds that were found, some of which dated back to the Gulf War, and at lease one which was a binary round.
From the 17 May 2004 Coalition Provisional Authority Briefing:

"The Iraqi Survey Group confirmed today that a 155-millimeter artillery round containing sarin nerve agent had been found. The round had been rigged as an IED, which was discovered by a U.S. force convoy. A detonation occurred before the IED could be rendered inoperable. This produced a very small dispersal of agent. The round was an old binary type requiring the mixing of two chemical components in separate sections of the cell before the deadly agent is produced. The cell is designed to work after being fired from an artillery piece. Mixing and dispersal of the agent from such a projectile as an IED is very limited. The former regime had declared all such rounds destroyed before the 1991 Gulf War. Two explosive ordnance team members were minor exposure to nerve agent as a result of the partial detonation of the round."

There is also a CNN transcript of a telecast that aired May 17, 2004, which confirms this.

The British have stopped calling it a "War on Terror"

In fact, the Bush dead civillians makes Osama look like a small fry. Bush dropped bombs on innocent people (remember "shock and awe" - another NeoCon propoganda phrase that CBS plastered our brains with for months, in between the fake color coded terror alerts).

Its not about Conservative or Liberal. Its about being well informed and not being informed at all.

If you're for legalized torture, if you think our Constitution just a "piece of paper", if you think an average tax debt of $30,000 per every man, woman and child in the U.S. is "insignificant", if you think the Iraq War is a rip roaring success, if you think the government should be staffed with political cronies that are more concerned with doing the bidding of their superiors then impartially enforcing our Constitution and our Laws, then by all means keep supporting the Bush administration.

Many experts and historians have already stated the Iraq invasion as one of the worst foreign policy blunders in U.S. history.

"Too early to draw any real conclusions."

badaxmofo, hate to break the news, but I would rather believe a majority of experts rather than a single Bush supporter's opinion (that would be you). Also, another bit of bad news, this so called "War on Terror" has lasted longer than WWII. Like I said, just start googling multiple sources and listen to other sources besides Limbaugh and Fox News.

Any chemical weapons Saddam made with the chemical precursors Rummy and Ronnie gave him have long since deteriorated. The shelf life on the kinds of gases Saddam used is usually between 5-7 years. I was confused by your comment about the chemical weapons Saddam was supposed to use on the Iranians. It would have been okay to use them on Iran, but not the Iraqi Kurds?

Additionally, I've got to ask. What do you know about how or when Saddam stopped being out "boy?"

"It is/was a FACT that Iraq had WMD - see Kurd gassing. Question really is: where did the WMD go/end up?"

I just can't help myself but here goes.

The weapons didn't go anywhere. They were destroyed by the UN weapons inspectors over the period of the first Gulf War and the end of the Clinton administration.

That's why U.S. forces didn't find any WMDs during the initial invasion, get it? They were the very same weapons inspectors that Bush and his fanatic followers, people not unlike you, didn't want to believe.

Maybe that's the difference between "Liberals" and Bush supporters. One group knows what the facts are and the other one doesn't. Need I tell you what group knows the facts.

"Your arguement for 3200 dead American troops? oh its a small number compared to WWII. That doesn't change the fact that 3200 people didn't have to die. Maybe not had the first WTC bombing, USS Cole and embassies and 9/11 not ever happened. "

Now what does Iraq have to do with had the first WTC bombing, USS Cole and embassies and 9/11?

badaxmofo, I've come to the conclusion, you're insane.

badaxmofo,

Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall, its pointless. If you were half as smart as you think you are, you wouldn't be arguing with me or the other "Liberals" on this forum.

If you believe so wholeheartedly in this war, why aren't you over in Iraq fighting it?
