- Until Democrats can acknowledge their grave mistakes and denounce them, they have little chance of offering any real opposition, in my opinion.

Bingo!! I have seen nothing but obfuscating from Hillary on this very point, I hope to see anyone but her get the Democratic nomination. - Reply to this comment

I haven't forgotten that, 'radiob'. Deep complicity in many of the most heinous Bush regime crimes is the reason that top national Democrats are so helpless to offer any substantial challenge to the pResident.

I have more hope that traditional Conservatives with retake power over the Republican Party, from the neo-cons/fascists. - Reply to this comment
- radiob,
You're right, I stand corrected, he voted for a troop redeployment in 2006.
Bill Number: S 2766
Issue: Military Issues
Date: 06/22/2006
Sponsor:Amendment: Sen Kerry, John F. [MA]; Original Bill: Sen Warner, John [VA]
To redeploy troops out of Iraq. Pelosi certainly did vote against Bush at the outset of hostilities to use military force against Iraq.

- I do not even read the hobman comments as they are all the same.Never vary but rarely do I see him taking up pages by copying and pasting the same message. I can live with the dribble of a occasional post that says nothing but the constant dribble of the same post pasted over and over is to much. It prevents others from conversing and is monopolozing the site. A good counter argument is fine leave out the name calling and classifications of people.

I think didntinhale and hobman are one and the same because they're both cutting and pasting the same crapola I saw yesterday.
Like you said, even a drone can do that. But you can't say Bush supporters aren't drones, can you? - Reply to this comment
- Nancy Pelosi as did Barack Obama both had the guts and fortitude to go against Bush, "the Traitor", she voted against the Iraq invasion, the vast majority of Bush supporting numbskulls probably don't know that. As did, at least one Republican, Lincoln Chafee, who lost his seat in the last election because people were so fed-up with Republicans in Rhode Island.

That is three congresspersons and Obama was not in office when the war was voted on. - Reply to this comment

According to Debkafile Pelosi brought back a 4 stage plan to end the war. I posted the stages here on a earlier post in response to didntinhale. - Reply to this comment

Which five years of Bush's term are you referring to? Bush has refused to talk to Syria since Jan 2005.

- Radiob, I remember when Hans Blix was in Iraq prior to the war and opinion polls then were clearly showing a majority of voters wanted the weapons inspections to continue, then as now Bush defied the will of the majority.

You may be correct I do not recall the polls at the time.It appears as if the American public and congress has failed in their duties. The congress certainly did along with the White House. - Reply to this comment

The Syrian Vice President has said the troop surge was "not a positive step" and would only "pour oil on the fire."
An American dialogue with Syria over Iraq could have had benefits for both sides. A role in the U.S.-led search for peace in Iraq would have answered Syria's prayers. Syria has been looking for a way to break out of its relative isolation and resume long-stalled peach talks with Israel.
Syria's aid could prove critical to Bush since Syria is believed to have influence with the leadership of Sunni insurgents in Iraq.
Not to mention that engaging Syria and Iran was a key recommendation by the Iraq Study Group co-chaired by James A. Baker.
If Bush ignores Syria he is ignoring the possiblity of finding a solution to the situation in Iraq and bringing stability to the region. Considering Bush's stance, the Syrians will be looking to the Democratic majority in Congress to pursuade Bush to engage talks; they also hope that a sympathetic Democrat will replace Bush in 2009. So do we.
Regardless. This is not the be all and end all for Syria. They will simply sit tight for now and tell us Americans, "You'll regret this."
Bush's problem is that he is a cowboy who wants to be the "sole hero." Like Reagan, he doesn't want to share the "glory." - Reply to this comment
- Didntinhale needs to stop cutting and pasting and come up with something original that he didn't hear from Limbaugh or some of the other rightwing neoclowns on Fox.
Repetive copying and pasting the same article over and over is not contributing. There is miniscule thought process involved.I have no problem with a different view just dont constantly copy and paste the same message over and over. A drone can do that. - Reply to this comment

Asking Bush supporters to come up with their own original thoughts based on reality and facts? That's a pretty tall order for these people. - Reply to this comment
- I really don't blame Bush for all this suffering, its the millions of idiots who help vote him into office not once but twice and were too ignorant and stupid to see what a irresponsible numbskull that guy was and is.

- Correction- this was ALL meant as a quote from the Reuters article:
"NAJAF, Iraq (Reuters) - Thousands of Iraqis flocked to the holy city of Najaf on Sunday for a big demonstration called by radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr against the U.S. presence in Iraq."
"Sadr has urged Iraqis to protest in Najaf on Monday, the fourth anniversary of the day on which U.S. forces swept into central Baghdad in 2003. It is remembered around the world as the day a large statue of Saddam Hussein was toppled in the Iraqi capital."
"Monday's protest is expected to attract tens of thousands of Iraqis angry at the violence that grips their country, four years after U.S. forces ousted Saddam. Demonstrations will begin at a mosque in nearby Kufa, then move to Najaf." - Reply to this comment
