All a bunch of whining complaining idiots that don't have a life. Day after day spouting a bunch of know it all drivel. Nothing you say is going to change anything. I guess the plus side is that you all are doing it via the computer instead of increasing the dreaded global warming with all your polluted Co2 that you release everytime you exhale. Oops my bad, I guess you are doing your part. Enjoy the rest of your day.

I'll say this, given the enormous amount of death and distruction that has been heaped upon these people by our Government, I think I'd rather be able to say I complained EVERY day and I did all I could EVERY day. Someone's going to burn for this folks and I'll give you better than average odds that Bush and Cheney are the ones who will burn. But what of their supporters. What of those who allowed the lies to continue and those who saw but refused to see the evil and hate these creatures have for other humans? I really think they will suffer as bad or maybe worse.

feelfree1 I have been following this and other US funding of terrorist prior to the Hirsh report, what amazes me is that no congressman is speaking out or calling for a investigation. There are numerous articles on it all posted by reputable news org..

radiob,

Re: Times Online article

Thank you for the follow up.

The ABC article that I previously posted a reference to, seems to remove much of the uncertainty about whether or not the U.S. is supporting these terrorist operations against Iran.

Since the ABC article does contain some new information, I suppose that they can still claim some exclusivity to their report.

Re: "1,500 Demand Gov't End Sectarian Violence"

When we review the relevant information for this demonstration, we see that at least 1 of these 1500 had a sign that read:

"get rid of the mortars and airplanes that attack us"

Sectarian violence? Just which "sect" is attacking with airplanes?

The Iraqis rightfully want an end to the brutal and disgraceful invasion of their country, and they have every right to defend themselves against these invaders, by whatever means necessary, and from the Iraqi puppet officials who have collaborated with the invaders.

Help to call for an end to this horrible U.S. inflicted disaster:

"more than a thousand Iraqis in one southern Baghdad neighbourhood raised flags and voices to protest ongoing sectarian attacks on the area"

Wait - you mean the Iraqis might be able to stop the violence themselves? Just what the f*ck are WE doing there???

Since the US wrongly disrupted the Iraqi peoples normality, it is only right that the US correct what they broke before they leave the country to their own devices.

I could not agree more with this statement. Even life under Saddam must seem "normal" when compared to what the Iraqi's are going through now. However, I disagree that re-occupation of Iraq is the solution.

In Iraq we have completely missed the point. The surge is our idea not the Iraqi's. They have no ownership of this intiative. Even it they did, the conditions for its success are not visible. In order for a "surge" to work, there would first need to be a modicom of peace. Yet there is war.

The other reason why it will not work is because we do not call the shots in Iraq - Iran and (to a lesser extent) Syria do. If it were not the case Iraq would not be at war. It is not in the interest of either Iran or Syria to see a peaceful Iraq.

What do we do? Firstly, redouble our efforts to train the Iraqi's. Second, stop sabre rattling. Put up or shut up. If we are not going to talk to Iran or Syria then the President needs to put his money where his mouth is and overthrow their regimes.

I agree, no chance of that.

When should we dump the electoral system, before or after we appoint an Islamic Cleric as our President?

the Reicht winged fascist media of the USA headlines when 1500 Iraqi's hit the streets in protest, while the Reicht winged fascist media of the USA reports NOTHING when 150,000 in America march on Washington DC to stop this insane, needless US fascist war.

It is good to see the people of Baghdad are fed up with factional and insurgent fighting. Until these "insurgents" (local terrorists)are brought under control, their forms of policing (kidnappings, disfiguring torture and murders) will continue to undermine any resemblance of a central government.

It is good to read that the Iraq army is participating in squelching this chaos.

The citizens of areas controlled by these local and foreign terrorists finally feel secure enough to voice their desire for normality.

This is a good thing. The surge is proving beneficial and should be ramped up ten-fold.

Since the US wrongly disrupted the Iraqi peoples normality, it is only right that the US correct what they broke before they leave the country to their own devices.

Sadly the Global war on terror and the hunt for Bin Laden has also suffered deeply from a very very poor decision by US leader ship. And unfortunately this leadership did not have the foresight nor the planning for the closure of this calamity. The US president has already said that will planning and action will be the responsibility of the next presidency.

sorry to get off the subject but i think everyone will find this interesting!!!!

Step One: The President%u2019s Budget Request

On or before the first Monday in February, the President submits to Congress a detailed budget request for the coming federal fiscal year, which begins on October 1. This budget request, developed by the President%u2019s Office of Management and Budget (OMB), plays three important roles. First, it tells Congress what the President believes overall federal fiscal policy should be, as established by three main components: (1) how much money the federal government should spend on public purposes; (2) how much it should take in as tax revenues; and (3) how much of a deficit (or surplus) the federal government should run, which is simply the difference between (1) and (2).

Second, the budget request lays out the President%u2019s relative priorities for federal programs %u2014 how much he believes should be spent on defense, agriculture, education, health, and so on. The President%u2019s budget is very specific, and recommends funding levels for individual federal programs or small groups of programs called %u201Cbudget accounts.%u201D The budget typically sketches out fiscal policy and budget priorities not only for the coming year but for the next five years or more. It is also accompanied by historical tables that set out past budget figures.

the president turns in the budget to congress, and they debate it and decide to pass it or not right?????

we seen that clinton was the only president to have us in the black!!!! a surplus!!!!

then we seen king george give the wealthy tax breaks, which resulted in a huge loss in revenue. then we watched his proposed budget, (which the republican congress passed) plunge us into record debt!!!!

am i right or wrong?? does not the president create the budget then congress decide to pass it or not???? i think i am right.
