Shiite Cops And Militants Allegedlly Kill Sunni Civilians As Revenge For Dual Truck Bombings
- The war is not about making Iraq a safer place. It's about making America a safer place. Every scumbag terrorist who ever thought about attacking America has gone to Iraq instead.

They know that if they admit that they've allowed a civil war to break out in Iraq that people will realize that this war is already lost, that our military efforts are futile. So they've decided to redifine the expression "civil war". It's a changing definition that defies historians and political scientists and remains just a little bit different than what is happening in Iraq.- Reply to this comment
from the Merriam-Webster dictionary
Main Entry: civil war
Function: noun
: a war between opposing groups of citizens of the same country.
Let's see here.
1) Mosques and marketplaces being bombed.
2) Police on a killing spree in another religious sect's neighborhood.
3) Kidnappings and dead tortured bodies showing up all over the country.
4) People threatened with death if they don't leave their homes because they are the "wrong" religious sect.
5) Cabinet minsters, police, lawyers, teachers, and local officials being bombed, shot, and beheaded.
Fits the definition perfectly.- Reply to this comment
- "We used Iraq like a carrot on a string to draw AQ away from the USA"
Such naivety is going to get a lot of Americans on our own soil killed. The ultimate goal of al Queda is to attack American targets on American soil in grandiose 9-11 style carnage. Iraq is a diversion to keep American resources and money tied up. - Reply to this comment
- Some more thoughts regarding the so called slant of the liberal press to report on killings in IRAQ
Their actions speak louder than words... "Repubs" Therefore the press is doing their duty. Also remember the repubs give voice to the intolerant. So the shear hypocrisy of every move that does not follow scripture or the Episcopalian way is fodder for the press. They deserve the treatment, they are dishonest and secretive and need to be kept in check. Clinton never tried to have my rights taken away. Rights that were granted to us by the founding father's for no other reason than to protect those in power from themselves. "IF YOU WANT TO TEST A MAN'S CHARACTER, GIVE HIM POWER' Abe Lincoln.
WAR should always be questioned especially one that was as misguided and lazily managed as this one. They are questioning the lack of thought analysis and wisdom that was apparent in this mistaken war. Suck it up they are losing the policy and theological battle. They are just like the islamists with their Religious Zealousness.. - Reply to this comment

Who's side should we take in Iraq's civil war?
Should we side with the Pro-Sadam Sunni extremists that hate us?
or
Should we side with the Pro-Iranian Shia extremists who hate us?
or
Should we play referee and stand in the middle while we get shot at and blown up?
What do you think?

We should not do any of that.
We should uphold the currently elected government.
Its not a civil war. - Reply to this comment
- We used Iraq like a carrot on a string to draw AQ away from the USA. Bush said that years ago, its true. Instaed of plotting another 9-11, they plot against the newly formed Iraqi Government.

WE USED IRAQ? So, according to your corrupted logic, we needed to suffer the scorn of the entire planet, alienate our allies, abandon our moral authority in dealing with other illegal invasions, spend thousands of warriors lives and a trillion dollars over a four year period just to protect our homeland?
Boy howdy, are you off the deep end. - Reply to this comment

Thanks, a little out of context but I have time today to engage in the debate regarding the liberal press and the so called fair and balanced press ie FOX news and the way they shamelessly defend this war and attack progressives who do not see this as a noble cause but a true empirical endeavor. We did not win the COLD war by invasion, we won by setting an expample of a free and tolerant nation. One that all other's want to emulate. George Bush has squandered 200 + years of goodwill and progress in this regard. - Reply to this comment
"Not even. Nobody is attacking the governement. They are attacking the civilian population primarilly, a few Iraqi police, and Coalition troops."

What is your definition of civil war and where does your definition come from?- Reply to this comment
- al Quada's intent is behind this stuff.
They want to re-establish the Caliphate that fell apart when the Ottoman Empire folded. This is thier stated intent.
They declaired that most current Islamic Governments would have to be overthrown to accomplish this task.
That is why they are still in Iraq.
