Radio,,
, Yes, I'm not arguing with you, We pretty see eye to eye on a lot of issues. But these problems have been festering since the 40's probably in WW 1 as well..
. Who's got the answer ?? Personally I think either give them the same toys of destruction we allow Isreal to use, or take Isreal's toys away.. That would at least put them on even footing.
. I do know what Bush has done is escellate the problems.. Isn't Isreal's navy still blockading them ??

Posted by knzbyte I second that!!!!!!!!!!

J it does not take alot of time to research the Palestinians economy or their trading partners. Nor their education. Wikipedia is a starting place, the CIA is another. Along with Chatman House, Brookings Institute, Rand Corp., Harry S. Truman Institute, Near East Consulting etc. Read up J.

J How many US business are own outright or the majority by people of Jewish descent? There are people on both sides of this equation that do not want peace and would rather wage war. They are a minority on both sides. Polls support this, just as polls support the majority of Palestinians and Israelis wanting the Camp David Peace Accord to become a reality. Polls also support that the majority of Palestinians want Hamas to acknowledge the right of Israel to exist. That poll was taken Mar. of this year before the "unity government" . How many millions did Arafat steal from his own people?

There is a wisdom that supercedes all others and that is the quest for freedom and justice for all mankind .it is in this regard, the world came to the realisation that the war on terror is not limited to just few individuals holding higher offices in Government but a global crisis waiting to erupt and sway all with it .
lets keep to a pratice that has existed milllions of years before and still exist till now ,which is to BE YOUR BROTHERS KEEPER.
Good shall always triumph over evil, and an ideology that preaches evil and destruction shall never prevail.
may God help us

j-whitman, your own words tell it all. I don't believe you are an American citizen, you probably attended the Iranian conference regarding the "truth" about the holocost. If you are a citizen your probably a white supremascist. It's your own words that tell the truth and a patriot is one that would never describe you.

Radio,, You might be right, I'm certainly no expert on their economy, but I do see the problems & lack of efforts from both us & Isreal to help the situation... Most of thier trade is with Isreal, & they can't get through the gates to sell thier goods nor can they get to thier farms.

GDP is at 5.4 percent and the loans of the US to Israel account for only .015 percent of GDP. In case that is someones next arguement.

Notblue,,, Again you call Americans unpatriotic & terrorists,,, My family has been in this country since 1765 & fought for freedom in every war we have had,, Even in this Iraq "War of Roses", which isn't a war - it's an Occupation...
. & I'm not the least bit religous, Christianity & Islam both are based on Myth & has caused the majority of our world problems.

In the last 60 years since the inception of Israel, Israel has modernized its economy and the Palestinians have done nothing to modernize theirs. The Arab nations have contributed nothing to modernizing the economy of Palestinians or there own people. All those oil rich countries have unemployment at 13% to 20% whereas Israelis is at 8.5%.

Radio,,, Yes, you're right... But I see absoulty no reason they can't solve thier own problems & live together as they've done for 4,000 years.. Untill Colonization & Occupation got in the way.

Radio,,
, Good morning,, What would happen ? Maybe another war over the land, but it is thier land.. I think the unemployment numbers in Palestine are alot greater than 50%, it's probably closer than 75%, & Isreal controls the paychecks which is straving broken & seperated family's, many rely on farm work they don't have access to or sellng goods accross the walls to the Jews. --
- I would put President Carter in there to fix the problem, He did win a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts.

Who do you think is their major trading partner? Again where is the investment from the arab nations to modernize the palestinian economy or their education system?

If you want to see peace in the Middle East then you would support the Camp David Peace Accords which is supported by an majority of Palestinians and Israelis. Sources, Harry S. Truman Institute, Near East Consulting. This is more realistic than the Israelis abandoning all of the land. That will never happen.

karlimhof,,,,, Absoultly,,, & Tear down those walls, put up by radical militant Zionism. One of the 1st major steps in defeating Terrorism is give them an economy rather than destroying it as Bush is doing,,, I'ts in every major Counter-Terrorism manual.

J what would happen if the Israelis were to hypothetically give up the land? Unemployment amongst the Palesinians is 50% and those living below poverty is at 60%. On top of that the majority of the business are based on agricultare, small business that make clothes, pottery etc. Those that are industrialized are owned by the Israelis. Do you think that they would leave and not take all of their assets with them? The other arab nations have not invested one dime into moderniziing the Palestinian economy. Where is the money going to come from? The world bank which the main contributor is the US? Second the Palestinians have a high high school drop out rate and a high secondary school drop out rate as well.

This is an exert from Washington Post on an operation in West Baghdad,,, 1 paragraph says it all pretty much.

Still, the soldiers said, their incursion into one of Baghdad's meanest neighborhoods was their moment to make history. They could return home as the guys who turned the war around. But they could also turn out to be among the last soldiers dispatched to a lost war.

I need more coffee too. You make great points. I think that is why this person isn't saying anything anymore.
