I'd lay even money Musty here never served a day in uniform. I'd give odds that he also has no one in his family in uniform. How about this Mosty ole boy: Try to envision your brother, sister, cousin or son or daughter in one of your high quality DoD Approved Body bags and you tell me if you can honestly say you are glad you made a profit off that one.

Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't have a business or a company or profit from the sale of your body bags. There is need for them because wars happen and people die. But this is not something to wish for under any circumstances.

What you are doing is like a Funeral home lobbying for repeal of the DUI statutes. Its just sick.

Jebediah, You may kick my torso all over the place. No doubt in my aging mind; however, when we both ultimately die, depending on where that happens, our remains may very well be encased in the fruits of my labors. Death is certain, life is not.

I do sincerely hope your wife returns safely. I am thankful for her service. It isn't that I wish for every person in Iraq to be killed. Far from that. War is just a microeconomic reality. People complain about a 2-4 person daily death rate. DOD has had greater numbers than that when all its forces were basically in a peace-time situation.

Musty,,, I understand what you're saying, many people are hurting across the nation won't agree though ---
- Still in this 'War Of Roses', the only ones who seem to be sacrificing are the ones fighting it & thier families,, our children's childrens's will be feeling it.

J, you got it right, I am in the GOP's pocket; however, my business is pretty much bi-partisan now. Oh sure, minimum wage raising to $12 an hour would probably cause twenty people to lose their jobs. Change the AMT provisions, hey I can alter production, pricing, etc. to protect my bottom line. The important thing is to allow the economy to flourish. And believe me, it hasn't been too bad.

Musty -

But you are actively rooting for the death of my wife. If I were to see you in person I would probably kick the *** out of you on principle.

Don't bother with the clock - you have nothing to offer me or any other thinking member of society besides greed and a complete separation of any concept of right and wrong.

I find you dispicable in every sense of the word. Your greed is how you are wrapped. That you can't separate your bottom line from common sense right and wrong is even more surprising.

Musty,,, Yes true, we did learn alot of lessons -- It's just too bad we forgot the hard lessons,, like fighting the war without the support of the mass majority of people.... Iraq's 'War Of Roses'

J, Westmoreland, et al were made eunuchs from the get-go. The press didn't help. Many folks don't realize it, but we gained a lot of valuable lessons there. From a medical standpoint, it provided reconstuctive surgeons with such a wealth of material that would later be utilized on non-combat type injuries of all typs. It would take several pots of coffee to explain all the truly great things that did evolve. It happens in all wars. It just does.

Musty,,,
. That's where I draw the line & left the GOP ----
. Not One Drop of American life, the grave damage to our National Security, the lies told our nation, or any amount of profit is worth it.

Jebediah, I think if you examine just what profiteering is and what it would take for a conviction, you would clearly understand why this is a hard law to enforce. You might find it unconsionable, but that is just how you are wrapped. I found from experience there was a need for a more properly constructed body bag. They can be manufactured for different purposes and DOD has specific requirements that are dissimilar from those by forensics, veterenarians, coroners, and hospitals. Granted, this skirmish in the middle-east isn't pulling its weight; however, it does have a significant percentage impact on the bottom line. Jeepers, do I have to build a clock to tell you the time?

Musty,,, Even during Viet Nam, it took the Press to find out the truth.... And we didn't lose it by pulling out, we lost it because of the People of Viet Nam didn't support it.

During the civil war "Profiteering from the war" was a hangable offense. I believe that law is still on the books.

I also believe that you are a scumbag from proudly profiting from the blood of both innocent civilians, contractors, Iraqis and Americans alike not to mention soldiers or our country.

shame on you.

J, I wish the press was SUpressed for the whole thing. Even when you and I were becoming Shellbacks, the press was given too much leeway. The military simply cannot function well when every move they make is being second-guessed. Sure there are going to be civilian casualties; that's just part of the deal. War has always killed by-standers. I look at it from purely a business standpoint anymore; and it has been very good to me. I would be foolish to even think of not pushing my politician's buttons any other way.

Musty,,, Who's anti war ?? -- We just expect leaders who don't rush into them on bad intel & leaders who don't keep repeating mistakes... This Iraq 'War Of Roses' is a mistake.

Once again the two posterboys of bravery, "Alabama Bush" and "Deferment Cheney" are herding more young Americans to the slaughterhouse.

And those who are cheering this on are every bit as culpable of this crime of deception and greed as the two main perpetrators themselves.

And every bit as gutless yellow-bellied cowards as Bush and Cheney too. How easy it is for them to send other peoples children off to die in the insane absurdity or a war for profit. Everyone of troops that dies is dying just to put money in the bank accounts of defense contractors (read war profiteers) and big oil and if you think Bush and Cheney aren't getting a kickback somewhere then you're living in a fantasy world. This not a war, it's a war crime and Bush and Cheney are the thieves in charge. The blood of our young people is a price they're more then happy to pay to fatten their bank accounts.

Certainly is lovely when a plan comes together.

And what a plan!

First, plant the seed of fear (the next attack might be in the form of a mushroom cloud)

Next, doctor the intel (and out any CIA operative who might try to expose the deception)

Then, invade Iraq, (forget Afghanistan and the War on Terror because there ain't no oil in Kabul)

Next, send billions of American taxpayer money over to rebuild the country.

Finally and here's the brilliant stroke of genius, send Halliburton over to harvest the no-bid contracts. What an unexpected windfall! ;-) ;-)

Certainly is lovely when a plan comes together.

No crime, sorry Charlie, NATO even had a say in what happened. This is part of the clean up. There is still lots of toys to play with and military careers to advance.

Certainly is lovely when a plan comes together. All you anti-war, anti-Bush, bleeding hearts make me sick with your wanting to see us pull out right away. In due time, the troops will return. Just don't be so impatient.

This just in : 1,000,000 private contractors hired in support of surge of 20,000

The military has announced they will be hiring 1,000,000 "war contractors" to go to Iraq in a support role for the surge, to support the 20,000 troops that make up the actual surge. "This is not a troop buildup," says General Lie, "we are hiring contractors, not soldiers, and they are only there to support the active troops by carrying out combat missions and so forth."

The contractors will be given US uniforms and equipment, and be administered by the army staff. They are not regular soldiers, however, military officials stress, because they will not receive any medical benefits and their wives will be given to rich men to rape while they are in Iraq.
