True. But there's a lot of speculation that by the end of the year the Kurdish region may "blow up" as well. The elections on the status of the oil rich city/region of Kirkuk will be happening then. Kurds have been kicking out the Arabs who had previously kicked out the Kurds years ago - and the Turks may intervene to protect their fellow Turkmen, who've been there since who knows when.

Just another fun piece of the Iraqi puzzle.

We generally agree, but in in response to your remark about "two sides," we disagree.

Iraq has the second largest oil reserves.

There are far more than two groups fighting to gain control of those reserves. When the US & UK invaded Iraq, we launched WWIII.

China and Russia really are not going to sit still while the US & UK attempt to gain total control of all Middle Eastern oil.

It appears that China & Russia (being much wiser than the US or UK) are using proxies in Iraq and there is ZERO chance the US will defeat them in this lifetime.

Prior to the invasion, China & Russia had contracts to develop Iraqi oil fields. And, I'll be willing to bet they are really unhappy that the US & UK deprived them of those rights.

The invasion of Iraq was the stupidest decision made by any nation in the last 100 years, if not throughout history. It ranks right up there with Nazi Germany's decision to launch WWII.

And will have similar results.

I support the troops. I support them by not wanting to see their lives wasted in a war of greed and stupidity. Everyone of them who has died, along with the 100's of thousands of civilians who have died in this insanity have died for nothing more then money and ego. REALLY support our troops by demanding the come home NOW, before any more of them are murdered by George W. Bush!

Seven more murdered by Bush every bit as much as if he'd put them against a wall and shot them himself. What he has done by dragging us into the war is unforgivable, inexcusable and criminal. All of the soldiers and civilians who have died because of this man's insanity have died in vain. They have all died for nothing. Bush and his handler, Cheney, used our troops like a thief uses a gun, to Rob and murder with. This war had nothing to do with defending liberty, freedom in any manner or terrorism.
