dallison7-

His hard-headedness makes one wonder how anyone was ever able to beat "the word" into that skull in the first place.

I'm sorry you are so offended that I use God's word as my source of strength.

We are not at all offended that you do so. It's that fact that you never stop doing so that is so offensive. get it?

There's a difference between "harping" and living by the word of God, as we are instructed to do. I'm sorry you are so offended that I use God's word as my source of strength.

There is also a difference between being offended and being tired, Rick. You are wearing everyone out.

-You have no idea what you're talking about.
Seriously. You have absolutely no idea what kind of person I am.

You're right. I am forming an opinion that is solely based on about 100 of your posts. No indicator of who you actually are. Right......

Nor is it my duty to "convert" you.

Then what the hell is all the preaching about, rick? You think it's witty? Entertaining? Interesting?

It is none of the above, in fact it's downright tedious to say the very least.

Funny thing is you don't even know me. If I knew you personally I guarantee you I'd be there as a friend every step of the way. You can count on that.
Posted by singinrick at 03:44 PM : Feb 01, 2007

I doubt seriously that you and I could ever be friends, rick. I can't be friends with those who only consider themselves and who presume to decide for others what is best for them.

I can't argue with that. This "wearing your religion on your sleeve" philosophy is what turns people off more than anything, I believe.

Yep, who knows how many people throughout time have listened to the harping until they said, "to hell with religion". Too bad, there are a lot of people out there who could use a little something to lean on sometimes.

-You mean the media and people who come on here insulting someone and cussing them out and then turning around and saying they are a Christian.

Case closed.
Posted by singinrick at 03:43 PM : Feb 01, 2007

No. He means those who are so fanatical in their beliefs that they make all believers look bad by association. Get it?

In addition, trying to force prayer (a religious ritual) into public schools, public events, etc., is another facet that gets my dander up.

They have church and their own homes for such practices. They obviously feel the need to be on display with their sacredness.

And so goes the corruption of religion, if it weren't for people like him, Christianity would have a better name.

As there is no shortage of gullible people out there, these schemes go on and on and on.

And so does the search for jewels in their crown.......

Science breaks things down to it's smallest parts and examines them trying to find the answers, philosophy stands back and looks at the whole picture and analyzes, while religion says, 'forget all that, here's the answer."

So true, so true. It's a lot like a pyramid scheme, in my book. You find a sucker, convince him he'll make a ton, and he'll go out and find more suckers for you.

As there is no shortage of gullible people out there, these schemes go on and on and on.

And so does the search for jewels in their crown.......

What is it within you that makes you think you have a right to preach to anyone who doesn't wish to hear it. Is it simply a lack of consideration for others, self-absorbtion, what?

No, sarge, pay attention. He is repeating the same things over and over again. He is teaching. Remember, those who can't, teach. These poor souls like him are so hungry for understanding, the understanding they percieve others to have, that they build for themselves an alter ego. Within that alter ego they understand things so much better than others, and it is their responsibility to enlighten us. It is actually sad, if they would simply read their chosen scripture and take it for what they get out of it, rather than trying to disect, they could be happy. That was not an act that he could not accept humor. He perceived it as an attack on the all-knowing alter ego, and could not see the humor. They cannot understand taht there are three modes of proof. Science, philosophy and religion. Science breaks things down to it's smallest parts and examines them trying to find the answers, philosophy stands back and looks at the whole picture and analyzes, while religion says, 'forget all that, here's the answer."

Listen rick, no one here has insulted your choice to believe, but rather your insistence in shoving your beliefs down people's throats who want no part of it. You obviously are incapable of making the distinction between the two.

This is not a church. It is not even a religious site. Why do you not ply your drivel where others might want to hear it?

WE DO NOT COME HERE FOR PREACHING. GET IT?
