Bush has not a clue as to getting out of Iraq. He blew it and should be Impeached. This is all a game to him, he's trying to pull the wool over our eye's again. He knows that the majority of the US and our Commanders do not agree and have said this is not the answer and that he will get a fight from the Dems and some Repubs. So he believes this is a win win for him. If they send the troops he thinks that will make him look good for TRYING. If they say no and no troops go he will blame the failure on those that stopped the troops.

Why isn't the news media covering Lt. Watada's story? This man is making a stand, on a good moral point. Well CBS why not support a good guy for once?

This is what happens when we get away from the American way of doing things. It has always been the American Way that people in an area will decide for themselves how they will be governed. It was ONCE the Policy of American's that as long as those people did not present a threat to this nation we should not and would not invade those people. In Iraq we abandonded the World and the people of Afganistan and for what? I still haven't figured out EXACTLY why we did that. Is there ANY fascist out there who can give me an answer that is based in what AMERICA has historically done?

WE DONT HAVE ENOUGH TROOPS IN OUR ARM FORCES, TO CLEAN UP THIS MESS THAT THIS PRESIDENT HAS CREATED. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE LIVES OF OUR TROOPS, OR THE IRAQI PEOPLE. HE IS ONLY TRYING TO SAVE FACE, IN ORDER TO PROTECT HIS POLITICAL STANDING. BY SENDING MORE TROOPS, HE CAN PASS THIS MESS ON TO THE NEXT PRESIDENT. NOW HE PLANS TO CREATE A JOBS PROGRAM, IN IRAQ. LETS NOT FORGET THAT THERE OVER 44O,000, HOMELESS PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY WHO COULD USE JOBS ALSO. MAYBE, BUSH COULD GIVE THEM ALL A GUN, PAY THEM MILITARY WAGES, SEND THEM TO BAGHDAG. THEN HE CAN SOLVE TWO PROBLEMS. HE WOULD FINALLY HAVE ENOUGH TROOPS ON THE GROUND IN IRAQ, AND THE HOMELESS, WOULD HAVE A JOB, AT LEAST UNTIL THEY ARE KILLED BY THE INSURGENTS.

President Bush Private Personal Was with Iraq is his war. For a man who dodged the war of vietnam and NEVER DEFENDED his country, how can he even think to continue killing our young men and women just to keep his war going. Now, he wants another 2100 men and women to send over to Iraq makes no sense. He needs to step down as President of this country. He has become a dictator and in some ways reminds me of Sadam himself. I
'm glad I didn't vote him into office. President Bush is making the entire American people look bad world wide and I believe I could have done a better job than Bush ever did and I don't have a degree in crooked politics.

Bush's new strategy is: "This time, we will have the force levels we need to hold the areas that have been cleared."

It would take a lot more than 20,000 troops to secure Baghdad. And how long will we have to "hold the areas that have been cleared"? We would have to remain in those "cleared areas" for years to come, because it does not solve the fundamental problems that are generating the violence. We've already been there four years.

The constitution paves the way for the eventual acquisition of Iraqi assets by foreigners or multinational corporations. While the June draft stated that %u2018Iraqis have the complete and unconditional right of ownership in all areas without limitation%u2019, the final draft drops the words %u2018unconditional%u2019 and %u2018without limitation%u2019 and adds instead the qualification %u2018except what is exempted by law%u2019. Given that Bremer%u2019s Order 39 already allows foreign ownership of Iraqi assets and that this order will be perpetuated as a law, the constitution in effect removes the restriction giving Iraqis exclusive ownership over assets in Iraq.

You can thank Bush & Zalmay Kalizad US Ambassador witing the Article 110

One of the biggest blunders Bush made was not securing the border with Syria early on in the invasion. His focus was Baghdad alone. No border control has bought us a war with Al-Qaeda and the Sunnis in Anbar province.

Bush said: "This would bring al-Qaeda closer to its goals of taking down Iraq's democracy, building a radical Islamic empire, and launching new attacks on the United States at home and abroad."

Bush is delirious. Al-Qaeda is allied with the Sunnis, not the Shias. The Shias are in no danger of losing control of the government in Baghdad. Maybe in Anbar, but not in Baghdad. One of the problems right now is that we are not at war with the Iraqi government, but we are at war with rebels. Let's pull out of Iraq and hunker down in Kuwait. Let them work it out themselves. Then, if the Iraqi government becomes an "Al-Qaeda" or "terrorist" government, we declare war on Iraq. Then we would be at war with the government and could bomb (or nuke) them into submission if that's what it takes.

The US government has been involved in drawing up the law, a draft of which has been seen by The Independent on Sunday. It would give big oil companies such as BP, Shell and Exxon 30-year contracts to extract Iraqi crude and allow the first large-scale operation of foreign oil interests in the country since the industry was nationalised in 1972.

When the American public has trusted him, we've paid. He hasn't done much that wasn't an error in Iraq and got over 3,000 of our troops killed so far. Somehow he manages to try to accept responsibility but it's still someone else's fault.

He ignored the generals and used the invasion plans from a Risk game he had played and hasn't gotten anything right in Iraq since. He's killed more Americans than the terrorists and is determined to add to his total. Still about 20% of people approve, proving that some people really can be fooled ALL the time.

Some of our military's recruits haven't even had working tanks to train in, there is so little equipment. The Israeli anti-RPG system works, but the army is waiting for 5+ years for Raytheon to reinvent it at billions, even though over 120 soldiers have died in RPG attacks in armored vehicles. The army said the system doesn't have autoloaders, it does. Now the army doesn't want to comment any more? Did Raytheon contribute to the moron's campaign or does someone at the army have their fingers in Raytheon's cookie jar?

Some member of the bush brain trust on here suggested that everybody donate $1 to pay for the war. That would be $300,000,000.00 or about 25 hours of the war, back to the drawing board.

emtak1 quoted Bush, saying "On September the 11th, 2001, we saw what a refuge for extremists on the other side of the world could bring to the streets of our own cities. For the safety of our people, America must succeed in Iraq..."
---
Right principle, wrong war. You quote Bush when he mendaciously attempts to link Iraq and 911, yet publicly stated in 2006 there was no connection between the two wars.

Even today, as Afghanistan suffers from neglect, Bush is still obsessed with Iraq, and in fullest dereliction of duty. While the "safety of our people" is a warm and fuzzy word to a speechwriter, national security and interest has nothing whatsoever to do with the Bush campaign to invade Iraq.

Bush deliberately misled the American people, a violation of his inauguration oath to protect, preserve and defend the Constitution. Bush knew the 911 attack came from al Qaeda in Afghanistan (via Hamburg) and responded to only Afghanistan-based al Qaeda/Taliban assets. However, Bush continued his original planning for his attack on Iraq, 18 months later.

Bush has asked for the nation to trust him, but having trusted him once and found him a liar, he deserves no further trust. Had Bush been paying attention, he might have been better prepared to deal with escalating evidence of an impending terrorist attack. (Even Rice had a CIA memo about al Qaeda and plane hijackings on her desk, the morning of 911.)

Excuse me, I think I just woke up from a Deep Sleep. . . . did I hear our President ( Johnson?) say we were going to get deeper into Vietnam ( I mean Iraq), so we can win?? Instead of using that OLD Vietnam tactic, why not use another from that war, Declare Victory, and leave ! !
