I does not matter if you are Republican or Democrate, the problems in Iraq will not be taken care of by political means. If the US pulls out of Iraq, Iran will invade and take advantage of an inexperienced military force. This will force Saudi Arabia to extend into Iraq to prevent this from happening. The turmoil would cause disruption in oil and Middle East peace. Democrates would blame Bush, if the US remains and the death toll continues the Democrates will blame Bush. He is in a no-win situation. I have yet to hear from the democrates on their ideas on how to solve the Iraq conflict. Nobody has come forward with the exception of Kennedy to say it must be dealt with politically. I believe that was the same result as Vietnam. Both sides are at fault and both will need to figure out how to end this conflict.

Cutting funding is going to be problematic because the Senate and Congress (which included 2/3 of the Liberals in congress by the way) signed a resolution back in 2001 and demanded another one in 2002, They gave the president authority to use his judgment to use force around the world wherever he thought necessary to protect United States interests. Typical Liberalisam, voted for the war before they voted against it. If Bush is so stupid, what does it make a Liberal for going along with the program? Stupider?

fascist, we have 5 percent of the world's population and 25 percent of its prisoners. Is this America. Good points...though I never thought I'd say that to a 'fascist".

I can not for the life of me understand Fascist. They just can't seem to get it with our system of Government and the REASON for Kennedy and all the others. We have a War going on that ALL who have a brain now admit should NEVER have happened. We have a leader who has been so Incompetent in conducting that war that it's embarrassing and all these poor fools can do is continue to attack their Neighbors and Fellow Citizens whom Mr. Kennedy is TRULY representing. Don't believe it Swastika Huggers? Walk down the street sometime!!

Yeah.......TED and Mary JO is your Vietnam. Isn't it time for this rich liberal snob to retire????
Here's a guy that the Dems in their pals in our liberal MSM wolfpack like to waddle out to talk about "worker rights, women rights, civil rights". I believe if Mary Jo was alive today..........she would take issue with his commitment to "worker rights and woman rights"......

This is a smart move by Kennedy. Bubba will veto the bill and the Dems will be able to say that he overrode their wishes when it becomes obvious that the generals were right and Bubba was wrong about surging troops.

It's still pretty obvious that the covert surveillance of Americans (including members of congress) still has some people scared of going to prison. Looking at those who have already gone to prison, I doubt that they were the only offenders...

If congress had a collective brain, they would pass a bill that declares the surveillance of Americans illegal, and that the proceeds from that surveillance fruit from the poisoned tree and inadmissable in any court.

Maybe then we could get back to the problems at hand and run this country without fear of political retaliations turned criminal.

Like it or not, I doubt that there are more than a dozen congressmen/women who have never accepted any kind of gift from a lobbyist.
